Why Anne Challoner chose Borrego Springs

I am a long time admirer of mid-century modern architecture. When for the first time in 40 years this gem became available for sale, I couldn't resist the opportunity to create a wonderful mid-century modern living space with all the amenities of a new house. The absolutely breathtaking mountain and desert views and quiet private location make this house a very special place.

Everything was as described on the website; a quiet location, well maintained home, fantastic view of the northern mountains, carefully selected furniture. We loved the house. Borrego Springs is a perfect place to relax, hike, bike, off-road driving, with a long list of park activities you can join. There is even some respectable cultural entertainment. Several good restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at this charming and well equipped desert bungalow. The unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains and desert are special. The owner has put much thought into designing and furnishing the house. The master bedroom king size temper pedic bed is very comfortable. The second bedroom has two nice twin beds and is a very attractive room. The wireless internet was fast and easy to use. The large screen flat TV has good cable choices.
Kitchen is complete with everything one may need for cooking and entertaining, The house is located on a small quiet street set apart from other homes. The patio has nice outdoor furniture where one can enjoy the special surroundings.

Desert Vastness

The mid-century modern house is lovely, smartly decorated with period furniture and equipped with all mod cons. Sleeping on the TempurPedic mattress in the master bedroom was pure bliss. Sitting in the living room and gazing at the glow on the surrounding mountains was equally wonderful. The house is located on the more scenic and quieter north side of Borrego Springs, walking distance from a desert arroyo that goes on for miles and not far from the new steel animal sculptures and citrus orchards. The quiet street has just a few houses and backs up onto the desert. Each day swept us further into the vastness around us.

Charming Home

My husband and I and two friends recently stayed in this new vacation rental. Everything is as advertised. The beds in both bedrooms are extremely comfortable. The kitchen well stocked. The internet reception is strong and the house was spotlessly clean. The front and back yards are perfect for relaxing and watching the night sky.

We will return and we highly recommend this property.

Great Rental

This little house is a mid-century architectural gem, accurately presented in its listing. It is a very comfortable, well appointed and tasteful rental. The back of the house is all glass, opening onto a spectacular desert landscape with an unlimited view to the mountains. The home has been completely refurbished and is spotless.

There were two of us but the house, having 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, will accommodate 4 with no problem. The main bedroom has a new Temperpedic mattress, yum! Can't speak for the other room, which has twin beds.

Everything, except laundry facilities, is provided. The kitchen is completely fitted out; just buy your groceries at the local market and you are good to go.

The owner is friendly, attentive and helpful but leaves you alone.

The house is very private. If you want a complete get-a-way, this is the place for you. You will need a car to get to restaurants, attractions and trail heads. There is a covered car port for at least one car. There is also a fenced yard for a dog (which you should clear with the owner first).

Bring a flashlight because the nights are DARK and there are no street lights.

There is a stiff cleaning fee but, other than than, there are no negatives here and the place remains a bargain. We would go back in a heartbeat. Unqualified recommendation.
