Where and what?:
To try and capture the feel of Villa Tranquila and put it into words is difficult but 'understated luxury' and 'home from home' do seem to cover it. The name is a bit of a give-away - the English equivalent is ‘tranquil house’ and really that says it all! However the secret to choosing this particular villa for your holiday, and this beautiful area, is that with the magnificent Costa Brava on your doorstep and all that it offers, combined with Villa Tranquila means that you have the magical mix of basking in sumptuous comfort and then choosing to be as laid back or as active as you wish. The mountains or the beach? an afternoon exploring the old town of Girona or perhaps some serious shopping in Palamos or Platja d'Aro? A jazz evening or a barbecue under the stars? What about a day trip to Barcelona? The choice goes on and on.
Villa Tranquila - the exterior:
The Villa is individually designed in a Modern Farmhouse Luxury Style with the aim to satisfy all tastes and needs, taking into account all age groups and their individual desires thereby creating the perfect holiday retreat. The Villa is approached by a long wide paved drive with a secure locking gate giving ample parking with extra for a car/boat/caravan at the side. A path winds its way past a large Weeping Willow tree and a mature flowering rockery towards the private barbecue and a relaxing area of a swing seat and sun chairs. There is access to the kitchen, lounge and 'Sundowner' room or following the path further through the garden you reach a dining area for meals 'al fresco' and the pool. Further on there are cushioned sun loungers, a large shaded terrace area, an outdoor pool shower and another dining area with umbrella placed in the shade of a pine tree. Lawns are laid to the side with further sun loungers, a fixed 3 metre umbrella and ping pong table.
Villa Tranquila - the interior:
The design of this Villa is unique in the fact that the spacious layout gives privacy for all the occupants. From the main entrance there is access to Bedroom 3 on the ground level with its own private bathroom and access through double doors to the garden and stunning mountain views. Also from here is a beautiful tower holding a sweeping tiled stairway with a few easy steps up giving access to Bedroom 1 and 2 and also Bathroom 1 on the first floor. Louvre doors give privacy to the occupants here and also security if there are young children in the party. Each bedroom has its own private terrace with Bedroom 1 (Master Bedroom) having double doors to a covered terrace of two chairs and breathtaking views and Bedroom 2 having a wrought iron table/chairs and a sun blind and the same fantastic vista! From the main entrance, and a few steps downwards you reach the dining kitchen, the lounge (40'' HDTV), Hi Fi (iPod/MP3 cable for Hi Fi supplied) and dining area and also the 'Sundowner' room with computer desk (WiFi) and printer. All have double doors to the pool/garden.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required on booking, with the remainder payable 8 weeks prior to departure.
A breakage/security deposit of 250 GBP (or equivalent in Euros) is required to be paid to the managing agent on day of arrival and will be returned to the guests by the agent on the day of departure assuming no damages or loss.
Pets will be considered however there is an extra charge of 75 GBP (or equivalent in Euros at the exchange rate on the day of booking) per week to cover the charge of an extra full professional clean after departure.
We would advise you to take out holiday insurance to cover cancellations as we cannot provide any refund once the final balance has been paid.
There is no smoking permitted inside the villa.
Changeover day is normally Saturday but can be negotiated.
All departures must leave by 10.00am and all arrivals no earlier than 4.00pm, unless by special arrangement with the owners/agents.
Helmets must be worn by the bicycle users.
Children must be supervised around the pool and garden at all times.
The multi-gym is used at your own risk.
We live in Calonge and in England at different times of the year and speak English and Spanish. I also have a little knowledge of written French and German.

We purchased this property after spending many happy holidays in Calonge and had it built and designed to our own specification. The Baix Emporda region is simply stunning, the people, the things to do just make it the perfect place to spend time whether it is to spend time on the beautiful beaches, be active exploring the nearby mountains or just to 'chill out' in this beautiful Villa drinking the wine from the local vineyards and enjoying a barbeque - it is just perfect !
The individual design of the layout of the Villa is ideal for families, romantic breaks for just two people and also for all ages. Villa Tranquila has fantastic views being set on a mountain hillside, but has the added advantage of being suitable for everyone as it has very few steps both inside and outside. Access to the garden and swimming pool is very easy and there is a terrace which can be locked to be able to keep young children safe. The property is private with many areas to sit peacefully with lawned gardens and a fully established garden.
