This bright and airy modern two-bedroom apartment was built and decorated with the closest attention to detail. When we designed our house we kept the historic facade and gutted the crumbling interior and re-designed it with some of the most modern architects in Buenos Aires known for their 'Punta del Este' aesthetic. You enter the apartment through a period door, and ascend a steep staircase straight into the heart of a large living and dining area with an open kitchen, where high ceilings, expansive floor-to-ceiling glass doors, hardwood floors, and natural fabrics create a unique flow of light and air. The two bedrooms are just off the main room, and are tranquil spaces with double glazed windows, blackout blinds, muslin curtains and good closet space (and one safety deposit box). The Master Bedroom features a king sized bed with a white linen wrap-headboard, and the second room has and two twins resting on a long beautiful wooden headboard designed so that the twin beds can elegantly be made into a king size bed (please request this before arriving if you need it). All linens are included and are changed once a week. The bathrooms are a symphony of luxurious warm wood and cool Carrara marble, both with modern rain shower heads and natural light. The master bedroom has an ‘ensuite’ bathroom and the bath features Jacuzzi jets. The second bath can be either similarly accessed as an ‘en suite’ from the second bedroom, and/or accessed from the living room by guests. Back out in the open plan living and dining area, the open kitchen features a Carrara Marble countertop, gas cooking stove with extractor, traditional Argentine stove top espresso maker and a traditional Argentine stainless steel orange juice squeezer, classic white dishware, microwave, small dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge. The dining area next to the kitchen looks out onto the large private deck and features a lovely large wooden dining table that seats 6 comfortably and 8 if you use chairs from the patio. The living room opposite the dining area features extra deep, luxurious linen sofas. There is WiFi, TV/Cd/DVD player where you can plug in your iPod. Lining one entire side of the apartment are enormous floor to ceiling glass sliding doors that open up onto a delightful but large wooden-decked terrace that is completely private, allowing for the apartment to be drenched in natural light whilst affording full privacy in all indoor and outdoor living spaces. The 37 sq.m terrace is perfect for both entertaining and relaxing, featuring a retractable awning, bistro marble topped table with chairs, two wooden sun loungers, a barbecue, and a lovely dipping pool surrounded by plants.
Go down the stairs to leave the apartment and after stepping out of our inner and outer private front doors, into you’ll find yourself in the heart of Palermo Soho, a tree-lined neighborhood full of cobble stoned streets, within walking distance of cafes and chic shopping, dining and nightlife options. Across the street you will find a great neighborhood bakery, and around the corner a large grocery store. But best of all is that next door you can dine at what is literally the best steak restaurant in all of Buenos Aires – ‘La Cabrera’. You will want to go back there again and again! (They can do tapas for you to have by your dipping pool should you wish!)
Our apartment is located in the vibrant and trendy neighborhood of ‘Palermo Soho’ (sometimes also called ‘Palermo Viejo’). This is not the upscale neighborhood of Recoletta - this is the most bohemian and avant-guard neighborhood in Buenos Aires. This picturesque quarter underwent a process of gentrification a number of years ago and still retains it’s strong ‘neighborhood’ feel to it. It has the same kind of feel to it as Soho in New York. The cobbled streets, the tree-lined sidewalks and the low-lying buildings, many of them with their original façades, are now host to Buenos Aires’s most thriving scene. Relax in the numerous cafés and watch the world go by, venture into art galleries, or explore what Argentina’s young designers have to offer by shopping in the many little boutiques that the area has come to be known for. There is no shortage of night-time activities either – this part of town is known for its fabulous restaurant selection and popular bars, all within walking distance from our apartment.
We have two properties in Palermo Soho, only a few blocks from each other. The other property is listing number 454128. It is slightly smaller and has a slightly lower price point. Both are two bedroom, two en-suite bathrooms, both designed by the same architects with similar aesthetic and furnishings (the other apartment has 2 Queen beds and is only one block from Plaza Serrano). With enough anticipation, rentals can be arranged for both properties simultaneously, so that groups of 4 couples could go on holiday together to Buenos Aires.
When we rent the apartment out we normally only allow children over the age of 12 as it has steep steps to the center of the apartment with no child gate. Our other apartment is suitable for children. Please look at our listing 454128.

When you rent our apartment it comes with weekly maid service, with a good and honest maid that has worked with us successfully for years (you can pay her extra to come more often if you wish). Catering is also possible upon request. We have wonderful local administrators who have also worked with us for years, who are Argentine and Swedish, and speak fluent English. Should you wish they can arrange for safe airport pick up and since they also run a local travel agency, they can help with any other manner of issues from buying tickets to shows, domestic travel and hotel bookings within Argentina, and are always on call should you need a hand with anything.
