Photos and Description of the Fort Collins vacation house rental
2 bedroom+/ 1 bath, sleeps 4, Entire house, 1 level, private, new furnishings

Only 5 blocks east of CSU, and a half-mile to Old Town Fort Collins, but in a very quiet & tucked away residential neighborhood with low traffic. This brick ranch home was built in the mid-1940's and was recently totally remodeled to maintain the charm of the era with modern conveniences. Hardwoood floors in the living and kitchen areas, carpeting in the bedrooms and tile in the bathroom with an all-new kitchen make it a new house in a vintage feel. Every room has a good-sized window (or 2), and all the house is on one-level.

Bedroom 1 has a queen bed with a memory-foam mattress

Bedroom 2 has a fold-down futon with a desk area

The bathroom has a shower only (no tub) along with a pedestal sink and toilet. The house has a new Instant Hot Water heater so you'll never have to wait for hot water.

The living area and eating areas are joined and have a comfy sitting area to watch the large flat-screen TV (basic cable). WI-FI internet is included.

The kitchen is clean, open and easy to work in. Microwave, full stove, full refrigerator, and dishwasher included.

There is a full-sized washer & full-sized dryer in the house. There is also a 1 car attached garage with an opener.

The backyard is fully-fenced and private with large trees and abundant small wildlife like squirrels, raccoons, birds and even fox. There is a sitting patio in the back with a gas grill, and a small porch in the front. All great for relaxing at the beginning or end of a busy day!

Centrally located and close to so many employers and attractions--Colorado State University, Colorado State Veterinary Hospital, Poudre Valley Hospital, Old Town, Otterbox, Dept of Natural Resources, and only 3 blocks to CSU University Center for Fine Arts and the flower gardens.

The home is non-smoking only. No 420 or MMJ. Minimum age for renting is 25 years old (children of renters exempt of course). Valid photo ID required for check-in and must match name on booking. No subletting, no large parties. Our house is small and not equipped for large groups.

As a general rule, we prefer no dogs, but we are dog-owners and lovers ourselves so we will consider a well-mannered dog or two with an interview in advance, and additional fee and deposit. Sorry, no cats or any other caged animals. If your dog meets our guidelines, there is a wonderful official fenced dog park only 2 blocks away for exercise and socializing. However, our fenced backyard is great for exercising too.

We stayed here for three weeks while we were house hunting. The house is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Old Town (slightly over a mile each way) and CSU. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals. The rooms are very comfortable. The owners were very accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed. It was great that we could stay with our 2 dogs. They enjoyed the fenced back yard.

We spent one month at this lovely and very comfortable home. Our little granddaughter came for "Sleep overs" with us several times. The backyard was great. Lots of room to play catch and blow bubbles with her. We really appreciated having the use of the grill. We definitely would stay there again. Sharon and Ed were very friendly and helpful. A big thank you to them.

Best of Fort Collins

I spent the month of February here. The location, size and the fact that it's dog friendly made it an excellent choice. It's right off of College Avenue, where everything happens. The neighborhood is safe and quiet where everybody jogs, rides bikes or takes their dogs to the dog park nearby. Owners Sharon and Ed are super helpful and I was sad to leave it. I recommend this house to anybody visiting Fort Collins. It will enhance your experience.

Sweet Home for Wandering Retirees

5 of 5
Submitted: February 12, 2013 Stayed: January 2013
This is one of the vrbos where we have stayed while starting retirement by wandering for six months. Sharon and Ed were so welcoming, responsive, friendly, and generous. The home was furnished and supplied with everything we needed and more (spice rack, DVR, front porch and large back yard that we enjoyed on unseasonably warm January days). They even brought over more lawn chairs when my sister visited for a few days. The house was clean and comfortable and the owners graciously accommodated us a day early due to problems with the vrbo where we had been previously. The neighborhood is conveniently located to everything in Ft.Collins. The house is quiet and located only 3 blocks from a dog park and CSU and the general area is great for walking. Thanks to Sharon and Ed for providing a sweet, comfortable home away from home for our two week stay. I highly recommend this vrbo. April and Susan

This place is great! I hesitate to gush about it too much, as I would like it to be available when I need it, but it really is the best of all worlds. The property is in a very convenient central location and yet in a quiet, low traffic neighborhood with plenty of privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped, even including the basics such as a full spice rack, sugar, coffee, etc. The tempurpedic mattress in the main bedroom is a godsend. The cable is even a DVR, so you may record/rewind, etc. as you need. The owners are very accommodating and helpful, and made me feel very welcome in their house. This was the ideal rental for me in Fort Collins!

Owner's Response: This is a repeat renter that we're very happy to have whenever she is in town. We're glad that it is comfortable for her adorable little dogs too!

This is a very nice place to stay, especially with dogs: beautiful and large yard, and close to the dog park. My daughter and I enjoyed the quaint and super clean home and terrific location-close to CSU. I am looking foward to staying here again.

We were in Fort Collins recently to take our dog to the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and this house suited our needs perfectly. It is close to the vet hospital and Old Town, and it had a secure fenced yard. The house has a very pleasant cozy atmosphere, and was spotless upon our arrival. The kitchen and bathroom have been completely remodeled and were nicely appointed. The bed was AWESOME - so comfy!! The house also has a really great TV which we were able to hook our iPad up to and stream Netflix movies.
The owner was really accommodating and helpful. She met us at the house upon arrival and she checked on us via email during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.
This place is so much nicer than a hotel and probably costs less too! I would definitely stay here again!
