A Stunning Property

When you book a villa on line you are never quite sure what to expect in real life. When we arrived at this Villa it literally took our breath away. The location is beautiful, set on a small hill top, in its own 24 acres of land, you are met by elegant gates leading 'up' a long drive and then out of the trees the property emerges. It is in the typical style for the area and the patios/seating areas (there are at least 4!) are well situated and very well equipped. The kitchen is brilliant with a 6 ring hob and 'giant' oven which actually works properly! The bedrooms are decorated to a high standard and roomy each with its own bathroom. The other main thing that sets this villa aside from others we have stayed in is that it feels like the owners have 'just popped out'. By this I mean everything you could want is there. Plenty of cutlery, cups, glasses (plastic for young kids) loads of cook books (mainly English), playing cards, mosi killers, washing powders, lots of book shelves full of novels, etc etc a true home from home. The swimming pool is large and deep enough to make great use of the spring board. The kids will also love exploring the rest of the grounds, which are mainly wooded.
I believe that the owners will be constructing a new guest/pool house this year (2010) which I hope will not change this property too much. I hope that it stays available to smaller groups of 4- 6 rather than 10+ groups which would also be reflected in the rental costs.
There are also plenty of places to visit and good local restaurants. The house is slightly remote and to go out and about always means using the small, winding country roads but that is part of the appeal in holidaying in a villa like this.
San Marino was a good place to visit, tax free, with great shopping. San Leo was also a beautiful medieval town nearby to the villa. The owners have also been really helpful by providing a pin board with business cards from some of the restaurants in the towns surrounding towns, which we tried and can fully recommend.
Having stayed in many private villas in Italy over the last few years we are happy to say that this property beats them all.
Happy Holidays.
