This vacation home works well for family gatherings and comfortably sleeps 6 people. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped to handle full meal preparations. Many sets of dishes and cutlery meant that we could load a full dishwasher before running out of dishes.

We spent most of our time in the living and dining room, because those spaces had the combination of intimate and cozy (living room with lower ceiling and fire place) as well as light and open (dining room with clerestory windows and high ceiling).

The owners were gracious and made sure that the place was readied for our arrival. New carpet meant that the house looked better than advertised, and so soft underfoot. We would have given the unit 5 stars had it not been for the inability to control the thermostat. The owners were prompt in responding to this concern and provided a temporary fix. I imagine that by the time this review is posted, the problem will already be fixed.

As for its location, the house is literally half a block from Crescent Beach. A couple of blocks in the other direction was a trail leading to what looks like the Southern edge of the bird sanctuary. Small shops along Beecher were within a five minute drive away. There were good recommendations in the guest book, such as Wired Monk coffee shop.

Great place to stay for a beach holiday.
