HERE IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!
My wife and I had the opportunity to get away and we had many places in mind. We settled on Maggie Valley, NC because we both just love the outdoors and wanted to get away from the flat land down here in Florida and NC was feeling right.
After deciding on where we were heading we began looking for a place with great accommodations and we found just that here at Misty Mountain. Once we arrived we soon found that the location was ideal for either sitting and catching some much needed R & R by the fireplace or to get out and do a little hiking, fishing or shopping. There are great little shops not far from Misty Mountain and it's only a short drive to The Cherokee Reservation or The Blue Ridge Parkway. We opted to do a few things of the fore mentioned.
The drive along the Blue Ridge, which is only about 15 minutes away, was astounding to say the least. The trip to Cherokee, we made three times, was educational and a great place to bring home souvenirs for you trip back home. We even got our hands dirty and dug up some great gems that are displayed on our entertainment center at home. I know now why it is called, or why I think it is called, Misty Mountain. When we were leaving, well our eyes were just a bit misty. I am planning on visiting M M again in the near future and I would and have recommended it to many people.
All the accommodations you could ask for at your fingertips, all you have to do is bring your clothes and some food and your all set to relax and take it all in. If I didn't mention it I should have. BRING YOUR GOLF CLUBS! What a beautiful country club and course just below the rental. You can't go wrong. In fact I ran into a group of guys there who go every year to meet up and spend a week fishing and playing golf together and I thought, what a great place for a retreat with friends.
I say, "this is where I want to be"! Go check it out, you will not be disappointed in fact what you will come home with is a desire to return and maybe some misty eyes when you leave.
