This home looked good on the internet, but upon arrival was filthy. After jumping thru hoops to go to the owner's bank to deposit a check directly to his account, he didn't even acknowledge receipt until I called. All sheets, towels, blankets etc were grimy and had to be washed by us, the renter, at a washateria because the washer leaked all over the utility room. The tile floors made our socks black. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and we continued to wash all plates and glasses and most utensils before using. the baths, toilets and sinks were dirty. The carpets were filthy. the furniture appeared to not have been dusted in months. the kitchen counters, when wiped down, turned a Clorox wipe black. There was no microwave as promised. The refrig had no ice or water. The sliding glass doors were tricky, but the owner gave absolutely no instructions on how to operate anything or where to find any info about the house. No instructions were given re cleanup either. After he got our check, we basically did not hear from him again. I'll be happy just to get my deposit back even though we spent a lot of money and the entire first day of our vacation getting the place even close to being livable. When two teenagers change the sheets on their own bed, you know there are problems!! When we called the owner's rep he said he would send a cleaning crew, but they did not show for 4 days. When they did, we were given no warning, it was early morning, and the children were still asleep so the the crew left....never to be heard from again. Please don't waste your money on this home.
I have learned never to rent a house with no reviews. I have also learned to trust my instincts. \This is the first home we have rented that has had this kind of problem and I had doubts from the first. We also called about the leaking washer, but never received a return call.
The only positive feedback I have is that there is a view of the ocean.
