Why Jim Geary chose Southwest Harbor
Our family home is right next door. We are year-round residents of Southwest Harbor. Our children attend the local schools and we are deeply involved in many aspects of our community.
Jim Geary purchased this cottage in 2009
Easy access to all of MDI from the cottage. Bar Harbor is a 15 minute drive, the summit of Cadillac Mountain is 13 miles, and the pleasure of the quiet village of Southwest Harbor is a few minutes' walk away.

Beautifully renovated cozy cottage

My husband,dog and I enjoyed our stay very much. The location is excellent, and the cottage is far enough away from homes on the side and the street, to have enough privacy. The owners are most helpful and not a bit intrusive. The interior is brand new with soothing wall colors and lovely wood floors. We recommend it for couples, couples with one or two children or singles.

Great stay in Southwest Harbor

The "Blue Moose" is the name given to the house by my children , and they only name a place when they really like it.
This house was very clean, newly renovated with all the up todate features. Granite counters in the bathroom and kitchen. The house had new hardwood floors throughout. The bedrooms were bright and airy. A rotary fan was placed in each room, which was a nice touch. I would recommend adding a mirror to the wall in the bedrooms.
The bathroom was also very clean and a new washing machine and dryer were tucked away conviently in a bathroom closet.
The kitchen offered plenty of room for our family of four to prepare meals and eat comfortably. The sun shone in the kitchen in the morning.
The living room and kitchen were connected giving the living area an overall roomy feel.
The house is located between two other houses ,but we felt it was very private even more so than the pictures conveyed online.
Both Jim and Louise were very helpful with suggestions on places to eat, things to do and some island gems they shared.
The location of the house in Southwest Harbor made it very convienent to travel anywhere on the island.
