Star Valley House Rental Photos and Description

Visit our log home on the Alpine Airpark and only a short walk to Lake Palisades. The home will sleep at least 11 people. We have two master bedrooms. Both have a queen size bed and their own master bath and deep bathtub. Bedroom #3 has a full size bed and Bedroom #4 has a full/twin bunk bed and Bedroom #5 has a queen size bed. Our home has 4 full size bathrooms, a kitchen with granite counter tops, two dining areas that can seat 12. Our home is a tri-level home. The main floor includes the kitchen, laundry, living room, 2 full baths, office, and 2 bedrooms. Feel special in your special hideaway, up a short flight of stairs to a loft with a couch and TV. Downstairs is another living room with a TV (Dish Network), three bedrooms and a two full bathrooms (bathtub and shower). You will enjoy the three car garage attached to the home with a separate entrance into the home. Our 40' wide x 36' deep hanger and a SUV 4 x 4 is available for additional fees, please inquire if interested. This home is on the Alpine Airpark.

Our family has been visiting the Alpine area and Alpine airpark for only a couple of years, but we have enjoyed the most every visit. We enjoy the summer with all the fishing, rafting, and hiking. During the winter, we take out our snowmobiles and hit the fresh powder and hundreds of miles of trails with our kids. No matter what time of year we are here, not only do we enjoy the incredible beauty of this area, but we enjoy the community and people and how they always make us feel welcome.

Laura Defty purchased this house in 2010

Our property has so many great features, from being recently remodeled, to having a hanger for your airplane, to accommodate your family comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for your arrival. We have coffee and seasonings and all the cooking ware you should need.

The unique benefits would be to have a 40' x 36' airplane hanger to use and a late model vehicle (additional charges will apply).

We also have a lovely back porch that looks over the Airpark and has partial views of Lake Palisades.

We loved the location! The property is very well maintained, fully stocked, and very nice. Even though it's a condo, it has the feel of a cabin inside with a beautiful view of the mountains through three large back windows. The best part is that it is out of the way of the hustle and bustle of Jackson Hole (35 minutes away). The owner is very easy to work with and promptly returned the deposit. We visited downtown Jackson Hole one afternoon (2 hours downtown was enough, at least for me) and went to the Bar J Chuck Wagon dinner and show (highly recommended). The property is conveniently located just minutes away from Alpine grocery shopping. Another day we went to Yellowstone and made the lower loop. We started early and we returned late in the evening after getting stuck in a buffalo herd on our way out of the park.
Another day we went whitewater rafting through the "Big Kahuna" and "Lunch Counter". I arranged it through "Teton Whitewater" ($50/person) in Jackson Hole. It worked out very well. You can arrange to meet them at the "put in" location which is just 15 minutes from Alpine on the way to Jackson Hole. This saves hours of travel time back and forth to Jackson Hole and back and forth to the "put in" and back to Jackson Hole.
Another fun activity available in Alpine is a float down the Salt River. We traveled 5 or 10 miles south of town and found some river accesses to the Salt River. Look for a couple of small brown signs that say "River Access. The first sign is called "Swimming Pool Road". Take a right turn and then the next left turn. This will put you on a paved road parallel with the river. As you travel south, you will see another access sign and a restroom building on the right. This is were you will "take out". Keep driving a couple miles until the road tees with another road down by two large pines. Take a right and cross the small bridge. The "put in" is just across the bridge. Shuttle one car back to the previous river access in order to get back to the cars at the "put in". This float takes about two hours and is very relaxing while taking in the beautiful scenery. We went down with one small raft and four "River Rat" tubes. It takes a little maneuvering in some spots, but nothing to worry about. Great for grand kids and adults (our 3 year old grandson loved it).

Owner's Response: Michelle,
Thank you so much for the very kind words and listing so much great information about the area. Alpine needs you as their marketing director for travel. I can't wait to try the Salt River raft trip. It sounds so fun! Thanks again! You're a gem!

We rented the townhouse and hangar for two weeks. Our "bucket list" adventure was awesome! The townhouse was clean and in a beautiful location. Everything is like new and it quickly became a great home away from home. The back deck views of the sunset were wonderful. The hangar is perfect. By air, Grand Teton is only 35 miles from the Alpine airport. It is a pilot paradise. By car, the 5 roads out of Alpine all take you to beautiful valleys with lots of wildflower covered meadows. The Alpine stores stocked everything we needed and the people we met were very friendly. The owner is awesome to work with. Excellent!!

I would, without a doubt, recommend this townhome to anyone looking for a place to stay in beautiful Apline, Wyoming. It is a beautiful home away from home. My 10-yr-old son even commented that he thought it was a 5-star place. There is plenty of room for a family, the beds are comfortable, the decor is very nice, there's a very nice master suite upstairs, the kitchen is very nice....I can't say enough. The owner was also great to work with and I received my security deposit back shortly after returning home. It was also nice to have a garage.

The townhouse was great and was perfect for a small family reunion. A nice touch with the full container of coffee. It was very easy to make reservations and check-in.
