We had a great stay in this cozy apartment in Barcelona. It is walking distance to Las Ramblas and very close to a Sant Antoni metro station. There are plenty of small groceries stores nearby. We had dinner at a small veg restaurant called Sesamo nearby and highly recommend it. Matt our host was very helpful. We had cold and rainy weather during our stay but we still had a lovely stay! Thanks Matt and Sue.

This is a great place if you want a home away from home in beautiful Barcelona.
We actually jammed three people in this cute apartment. Though it is better suited for two people, we had no problem to meet all our needs. It has everything you will need in a vacation home. Location, host, and incredible near-by eating places make this apartment a top choice.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in this charming apartment. It truly is within a short walk of most of the major center city attractions - The Ramblas, Boqueria, Barrio Gotic, etc - yet just far enough away so that you can enjoy peace and quiet when "at home". The metro stop was a block away, for when we wanted to venture further afield. The space is compact, efficiently organized, and really has everything one needs - including a comfortable bed. The San Antoni Market is steps away, and it was great to be able to go to the market in the mornings and enjoy breakfast on the terrace. Matt was easy to reach and always available to provide help, information, or advice. We would definitely stay there again - and certainly hope to be able to.

My daughter and I spent a fantastic week in Barcelona at Matt's apartment. It was just as described, close to everything. Matt was such a perfect host, he welcomed us with wonderful pasteries, coffee, juice and water. Matt is a wonderful honest and decent person. I actually left behind a sizeable amount of money, when I realized my error I contacted Matt and he and Sue made sure my money was returned. I highly recommend their apartment and will certainly use again when I return.

Wow ! Dès notre arrivée à Barcelone, les indications que nous avaient transmises Sue et Matthew, notre hôte, nous ont grandement facilité la vie pour le déplacement de l'aéroport à notre lieu de rencontre. L'accueil de Matt était tout à fait amical et sympathique et celui-ci nous a rapidement mis en confiance en nous rendant à l'appartement. Matt est un hôte exceptionnel. Aimable, disponible il possède toute l'info nécessaire pour les visiteurs et ses conseils sont précieux notamment en fonction du nombre de jours de visite dans la ville. Et son accueil à l'appartement.... Génial ... Bouteille de vin, fruits et légumes, viandes froides, fromage, petits pains, chocolats et même un kit de chapeaux, masques et flûtes pour le Nouvel An!!! Quelles belles attentions qui sont tout à l'honneur de Matt. Ainsi, nous nous sommes rassasiés dès notre arrivée avant de prendre la route pour découvrir Barcelone.

L'appartement est très bien situé à 2 minutes de marche d'une station de métro, et près de la célèbre Ramblas et du quartier gothique. Également à distance de marche d'une foule d'autres sites d'intérêt. Comme l'apart est très bien équipé (il ne manque rien) il y a plusieurs épiceries autour et donc tout ce qu'il faut pour ne pas manquer de bon vin espagnol et pour se faire au moins des petits déjeuners ou autres goutés. La terrasse extérieure est superbe et la chambre vitrée sur la majeure partie des murs est tout simplement superbe.

Il est difficile d'exprimer ce que nous avons vécus et de décrire notre hôte Matt ainsi que l'appartement en seulement quelques lignes ici. Par ailleurs, lorsque nous en parlons autour de nous, notre enthousiasme se transmet immédiatement et nos interlocuteurs nous demandent les coordonnées dans l'éventualité d'une visite à Barcelone. C'est sans réserve que nous suggérons cet appartement et il est certain que nous retournerons à Barcelone dans les prochaines années et c'est chez Matt et Sue que nous irons résider....

This is a great little apartment on the top floor with plenty of natural light, rooftop views, and a sunny terrace! The apartment is thoughtfully appointed with everything you might need (washing machine, wifi, juicer, coffee maker, etc). There is also a lift in the building. Our host, Matt, was extremely helpful with suggestions of what to do and see and he responded immediately to questions about the apartment during our stay. Overall, this is a wonderful find. Great value for money. Safe neighborhood, quiet neighbors, awesome location. We walked everywhere. Easy access via the Metro to sites farther away. Highly recommend!!

Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. Matt and Sue were a pleasure to deal with prior to our trip--accommodating and professional in every sense. Finding Matt from the airport shuttle stop was simple, and he was very helpful in showing us around the neighborhood and pointing out highlights and necessities.

The apartment itself was exactly what we were looking for: a quiet place in El Raval in a great neighborhood (anything you could want is within a few minutes walking), close to the metro and Las Ramblas. The view from the rooftop patio is unbelievable--a panoramic of both Montjuic and Tibidabo, with all of the city in between--and it light in the late afternoon, while drinking a glass of wine, was enough to consider a longer stay. The view from the bedroom is just as good.

A truly remarkable and wonderful vacation. We'll be returning very soon.

Why would you stay at a hotel when you can stay in a penthouse apartment, otherwise known as the "sobre atico" ? Where the gracious, adorable Matt, the owner greets you after providing perfect directions by bus from the airport? Then surprises you with a welcome wine,etc.? And he is your personal concierge. The weather was warm enough to enjoy breakfast and our aperitifs on the balcony surrounded by gorgeous flowers, soaring seagulls and magnificent views of the mountains. We awoke to the sound of the church bells, while one of us made espresso and French press coffee, one walked
half a block to the top of the street (turn left outside the front door) to buy fresh baked goods in this adorable neighborhood. Just to the left of the bakery is Star Express grocery to pick up a few things like eggs, water and most importantly Los Molinos Tempranillo red wine. The apartment truly has everything you need to cook anything. Do not forget to bring your ipod to use in the docking station.The Sant Anton market is around the corner as well as the subway. It is also walking distance from Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya. This has been the best VRBO stay we have experienced as well as the most romantic home away from home. Thank you so much Matt.
