The villa has stunning views of the sea and mountains. The villa was built in 2008 to a luxury specification and the architect has done a wonderful job taking advantage of the views by designing a 4 bedroom villa which fits perfectly in the land entitled ' Sitio dos falcoes' (site of the falcons) and creating all 'rooms with a view'. The villa has 3 double rooms & 1 twin with comfortable beds and pillows, duvets, blankets, built in wardrobes and wonderful views of the sea. The villa has 4 bathrooms, two are en-suite, one family bathroom and an additional w/c room. The villa has a sociable open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room area. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer (inc. ice-maker), hob and electric fan oven. On the veranda is a large eight seater table and a large BBQ. The Cinema / Games Room provides either a haven to escape from the sun, entertainment on rainy days or a venue for after dinner 'contests'. The villa has internet access / WiFi.

Quinta Falcoes exceeded all our expectations, well planned accommodation of a very high standard, complimented by fantastics sea views and stunning sunsets.
The heated pool was very very warm, allowing it to be enjoyed well into the evening during October.
With the luxury accommodation and fantastic surroundings we only eat out once making full use of the barbecue, providing a truly relaxing holiday.
Rosa and Gilberto gave us a warm welcome and lots if local information in addition to the well prepared “ Things To Do” folders.
Rooms were clean, light and well dressed with quality soft furnishings on a par with any boutique hotel.
You can either meander from village to village on the back roads or make use of the new network, the nearest large supermarket is in Calheta 15 minutes away, also in Calheta is Centros das Artes (museum of contemporary arts) well worth visit for it’s exhibitions, views and design.
I can only agree with the other reviewers, this is a villa that ticks all the boxes.

Quinta Falcoes - the best villa we had!

We are three couples between 55 and 60 and look every year for an special villa to
spend our holidays.
Quinta Falcoes has impressed all of us as a relaxed and aesthetical place at Madeira.
All descriptions and reviews that we found are quite correct.
The appliance for a cool drinking water was phantastic.
We drifted one week across this island and we must notice that this time was to
short.

Quinta Falcoes...the perfect holiday villa.

Spacious, excellently maintained accommodation of a very high standard, looking straight out over the western ocean from high above the shore. The sunsets are sublime and even in November, guests are able to enjoy drinks on the terrace and dip in the pool for several hours around midday. As the house name implies, it is a wonderful place to watch birds of prey gliding on the thermal currents hundreds of feet above the sea.
Rose was on hand to give us a warm welcome and ensure that all was well. The pool and gardens are in the capable hands of Gilberto and are as splendid as the photos on the website.
We visited one of our favourite places-Jardim Do Mar, only a short drive away. Highly recommend the restaurant Tar Mar where we had a VERY long lunch on the terrace in the warm November sunshine! Even after three visits to Madeira, there is still so much to see and do and all within driving distance from the villa.

Quinta Falcoes occupies a wonderful position with an amazing vista that is quiet and comes with an amazing juxtaposition between the mountains and the endless view of the ocean. Falcons can be regularly seen should you ever tire of the amazing sunsets. The house is very spacious, modern and very well equipped with everything that would be required for a relaxing and enjoyable stay with the added bonus of a good size heated pool.
The owners were extremely helpful and flexible throughout the different stages of the booking process and the “house keeper” was not only thorough but also courteous and friendly. The location of the villa on this beautiful unspoilt tourist friendly island is great for days out and sightseeing with all four corners easily accessible. I would highly recommend this property.

Great time in a great house

To any curious Germans we write a German review:
Das Haus liegt 500 m über dem Meeresspiegel und bietet einen fantastischen Blick auf den Atlantik. Durch den fast stetigen Atlanktikwind wird es auch so gut wie nie unangenehm heiß.
Das Haus ist großzügig ausgelegt, so dass keine Platznot aufkommt. Die Einrichtung ist modern.
Das Highlight ist der beheizte Pool, in dem man auch bei Regen ein Bad im 30 Grad warmen Wasser nehmen kann.
Es gibt kein Fernsehsignal aber einen Fernseher mit DVD-Player, so dass auch bei nicht so gutem Wetter nie Langeweile aufkommen muss. Daneben ist das Haus für Kinder gut eingerichtet mit genügend Platz und sonstigen Ausstattungen.
In der Umgebung gibt es gute Restaurants und auch einen Bäcker.
Die Betreuung vor Ort ließ keine Wünsche offen. Danke an Rose und Gilberto!

Second time even better than the first

We were a group of mature friends and this was our second trip to this luxury villa which is superbly located high up on a cliff with 180 degree uninterrupted view of the ocean and coastline and soaring pairs of falcons who nest nearby.
The accommodation is modern, spacious and very well appointed and our room had its own large terrace with sea views.
We ate in quite a few evenings and found the kitchen fully equiped and to a very high standard even including an induction hob. Dining facilities are provided indoors and also outside next to the large attractive pool which overlooks the sea. There is a very handy fully equipped laundry room, huge downstairs playroom with table tennis and DVD with a comfy seating for after dinner viewing/dozing!
One high spot was a meal we had a local "restaurant" which only opens if they know you a coming, you eat what is on offer and not from a menu and there is an extensive choice of local, very reasonably priced wines. And they didn't mind us staying late playing games. The other was the levada walk that includes a long stretch in a tunnel through a mountain. Torches and good companions required.
All in all this is an ideal place for a family or group of friends to have a wonderful holiday.

Quinta Falcoes is a stunning, modern villa in one of the most incredible locations you could possibly imagine. The villa is in a lovely quiet village and has all the luxuries you would expect, however, it is the outdoor space and the views across the ocean and the surrounding cliffs that make this such an extraordinary place.
It's hard to imagine by the pictures, however, they really don't even begin to describe the views!
Our stay was made more special by the care and attention of Rose and Gilberto who look after the villa on behalf of the owners, they are charming and helped us out with lots of local advice. They also kept the pool and villa in tip-top shape throughout the stay.
The owners have provided a huge amount of resources available which really helped us to chose the best activities on this beautiful island. Funchal is such a wonderful city and we explored all of it's stunning gardens, churches and museums.
We really can't wait to go again!!

Fabulous Villa

Lovely villa with a stunning view accompanied by Falcons visiting every day. Well appointed with plenty of space and the heated pool was the icing on the cake. Fabulous for the children with their own area downstairs when they were not in the pool. Very clean and well thought out. The service we received from the owners was the best we have ever had, with lots of information and a welcome pack. Highly recommended!

It's not often I fall in love with a holiday or want to go back before I've taken off for home. But my time at this Villa was like a dream and I can truly say I am smitten. The villa's location is just genius and setting was like a well organised stage set, depending on how early I woke, I'd watch the light house flashing in the far distance, then watched the sun creping over the hills and spilling down the valley. Spent the the day in the pool at (30+ degrees) and sun bathing. There's absolutely nothing to spoil your views over the valley and sea! The two Falcons gliding around in the valley was the cherry on top. That's not mentioning the sun sets! If you have the privilege of staying at this villa, it's really the front row seats to the best of the best of Madeira's landscape, nature and sun. Loved it. Thank you guys.

We had the pleasure to stay at villa Quinta Falcoes for a week in March 2011. We were 4 adults (2 couples) sharing the villa, which was just perfect. The villa was excellent for us and surpassed our expectations. The villa is even more beautiful than the pictures on the website! The house was spectacular with unbelievable views of the ocean and sunsets.
What you see is only half of what you get. It was amazing to wake up with the view of ocean.
The villa is away from anything and anyone else so you can have a completely relaxing break. We found the information, booklet in the house very helpful in resourcing local places to eat and see.
The kitchen is completely equipped and has lots of space for the whole family to join in with the cooking. The kitchen/dining/living room is very spacious.
One little thing – the Vila has TV, but has not satellite – only DVD. So if you want watch football or similar - you need to find TV in the bar or pub.
The owners Jon and Ginny was very helpful and welcoming before and after our stay.
We soon felt totally at home and did not want to leave. Thank you for a great holiday - we'd love to be back one day!
We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting!
