In September 2007 a guest wrote in our guest book 'once again a wonderful family get together. Simply can't beat the Adirondacks, Upper Jay and the Navajo Lodge.' In August 2008 another guest wrote 'every two or three years we get together at a place like the Navajo Lodge.... this week four generations enjoyed the homey rural and very pleasant character of the Lodge and the beautiful Keene Valley... We generally rent places like the Lodge simply based on word of mouth or from images on the internet always hoping that the place will be both acceptable and will have 'character' to match the 'characters' in our family. We count the Lodge among the best places we have ever stayed.'
The Navajo Lodge was built in 1860. The restoration work commenced in 2002 and was completed in 2005. It is one of the few historic homes remaining in Jay. A guest wrote in December 2008 'By far the most lovingly restored, comfortable and coziest house of our Adirondack experience. We hope to return for many years to come and applaud your spectacular restoration of the house.'
