DETAILS ON FULL VACATION PROPERTY at Stillwater Cottages
Our vacation home, which was built in 1905, has been completely remodeled for your comfort, but it still retains the character of the original architecture in early Montana.
Stillwater Cottages is located right off Hwy 2 near downtown Kalispell. We have the privilege of being near the city, with the feeling of being on an acreage in the country because of our extensive, private recreation area extending back to the Stillwater and Whitefish rivers. We have a tree fort and play area for the younger group, plus a private campsite in the shade of the cottonwood trees. Enjoy an evening campfire, or a picnic with friends and family. There is an area for tenting if you prefer to camp.
Experience outdoor Montana along the private walking trail back to the river. You may see deer, ducks, geese, and other wildlife. Bring a lawn chair or fishing rod to the river's edge and relax on the spacious beach area (small rocks, not sand).

The 2600 sq. ft, 5 bedroom-2 bath home has been set up as a 3 bedroom main floor plus a 2 bedroom lock-out upper level living area. Both levels are complete with a full kitchen, living area, washer/dryer, entertainment center and much more. Each level has its own private entrances for convenience, privacy and security.
Studio plus loft, 2 singles in the loft plus a queen size downstairs; sleeps 3-4. It has a full bath, kitchenette with hot plate, microwave, mini-fridge, and kitchenware. Very attractive--hardwood floors with electric heat and AC.

The Montana cabin has a feel of its own, with a rustic hardwood floor and kitchenette. Yet it has all the amenities for modern living. It has AC, wifi, dish network and queen bed, plus a comfortable larger futon for a 3rd adult or 2 children. Great for a couple or small family get away.
The main home, cottage, and cabin all have new carpet, new paint, refinished hardwood floors, and new appliances throughout. The home, cottage and cabin all have AC for summer comfort. There is a fireplace, and/or wood stoves in the facility, which makes this vacation home attractive in all seasons.
Beyond the cottage and cabin we have a kids' fort. It has two cots for sleeping overnight--kind of a fun experience for the whole family. There is also a tenting area for those who are interested. There is a small fee for the use of these quarters if used for sleeping overnight.
No smoking, Prefer no pets.
We are situated right in the middle of the Flathead Valley close to the junction of Hwy 2 and 93, approx a mile from downtown for your shopping and dining amenities. Our acreage is special with only 6 other acreages bordering the Stillwater River in our locale.
We have gone with VRBO rate schedules and payments online. The website rates quoted for different seasons show the rates for the main house only. Unfortunately the website is very limited to variations as far as showing either rates or availability of the cabin or cottage separately from the main house.
1. Main House (sleeps 10)
The 5 bedroom main house is rated for 10 occupancy. It is split 3 bedroom main floor and a 2 bedroom lock out, each with full privacy and complete, living quarters and full kitchens. The rates quoted in the Rate section of the website is for the main house only.
2. Whole Property (sleeps 16)
For larger groups we suggest adding the cabin and/or the cottage. They are rated as 3 people occupancy ea. For the whole property we have a suggested occupancy of 16 in total. We encourage larger groups to rent the whole property together. This gives you 8 bedrooms, 4 private living areas ea. having its own full or partial kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and all the amenities, all the yard and recreation areas completely private. To encourage this we have discounted the cabin or cottage rate for all seasons to $75/nt or $450/wk plus $50 cleaning fee ea.
3. Guest Cottage or Cabin (sleeps 2-4 ea recommend 3)
The base rental rate for the cottage or cabin if booked separately from main house is $/75/nt or $450/wk low season and $100/nt or $600/wk in high season.
Rate for either cabin or cottage if booked with the main house is $75/nt, or $450/wk in all seasons. If both are booked with main house they are @ $100/nt ($50 ea.) or $700/wk total.

When you view the calendar please understand that the calendar is only accurate concerning the main house since that is what the rates are based on. When the main house is reserved the dates show unavailable. However the cabin or cottage may still be available.

Who are we? We are a fun loving couple who have recently married after losing our spouses due to health issues. David was born and raised on the family farm in Alberta, Canada, where he resided for most of his life. His love for helping people in need led him into becoming a Christian pastor and conference speaker; both David and Connie are presently involved in this.
David and his family have owned property in the Flathead Valley for 20 years and have enjoyed skiing, golfing, and snowmobiling plus the great shopping. David owned a private airplane for most of this time and flew into Glacier Park International to enjoy their favorite getaway home.
Connie has been a native to the Northwest United States, spending her growing up years in Idaho, California, Washington and the last 30 years as a resident of Kalispell. She has a son and daughter who are now attending college in Montana. Her love for people, music, art and serving is very apparent in all she does.
Kalispell has been Connie's home for 34 years but with her daughter leaving home and both of us getting married a five bedroom home was too big for the two of us. We decided to completely renovate the home and turn it into a vacation property. We both love to serve people and thought this would be a good investment to give us something to do in our semi-retirement years.
The location is very unique--being in the city close to the center of Kalispell, with restaurants and shopping nearby, yet you hardly know you are in the city. There are only 6 houses in our neighborhood and they are all very friendly and safe people to be around. Our property extends right back to the Stillwater River where the Whitefish River and the Stillwater join. We have developed our own private campsites with a picnic table and fire pit for your enjoyment in the large wooded area on our property. From there you can explore the river area where beaver, deer and many different birds have their natural habitat.
Our house is split upstairs and downstairs as two separate rental units. We are now offering our whole house, guest cottage and guest cabin on VRBO as we have purchased another residence close by, which will be convenient to manage our VRBO property.
Our whole home was completely renovated in 2012,. We installed a separate covered entrance for the upstairs. We also added air conditioning, making it more comfortable in the summer. We have all new carpet, fresh paint, new cupboards, new appliances, large big screen TVs, WIFI and all you need to enjoy your stay.
