This 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath super clean, super cute, beach cottage was the perfect place to rent for our extended 2013 St. Patrick's Day weekend. As we drove into Stinson Beach, we passed many of the VRBO rental properties that I had originally considered. They were not as near to the beach and did not have a view of the beach but were the same price. That was our first pleasant surprize. I felt like Mary, the owners must have newly renovated the house because it seemed so fresh and clean. You can see and here the ocean from the front porch and the huge back deck. We used the hot tub after hiking one of the most amazing trails up and around Mt. Tam. I believe it is the Dipsee trail. You can access the trail head about a half a block behind the Fire Station and the particular trail we followed circles around and brings the hikers in at the beach parking lot where we rewarded ourselves with a huge ice cream cone at the Parkside Ice cream shop. I think we hiked close to 7 or 8 miles, crossed 19 bridges and saw San Francisco and some distant islands that can only be seen on a clear day. The next day we used the cottage shovel, rake and sand toys to dig a massive hole and to create masterpieces in the sand. It takes less than 30 seconds to be able to stick your toes in the sand. Mary, the owner was so thoughtful and obviously wants her guest to be happy because her attention to detail inside her charming beach house made our stay cozy and comfortable. Bring your own duriflame logs because they are expensive at the only grocery store in town. WE WILL BE BACK!

What a wonderful beach home! Perfect for anyone wanting to spend time at a world class beach in the most beautiful part of the world. The owners are the most wonderful and welcoming. My family and I had a magical vacation and look forward to staying here again!

We rented this cozy and sunny beach house for 5 nights in July and were very happy we did. Everything from communicating with the gracious owners, to arriving at the house, to hanging out there, was effortless. We were a bit hesitant at first because no other vrbo reviews yet (property was new to vrbo), but the listing description and photos are all completely accurate, the home is well maintained, and we have already recommended the property to friends. Once there, it is hard to decide which deck or window view to settle in with first - a view of the ocean or a view of the hills of Mt Tam. One could stay at this beach house and happily not venture much beyond the beach which is a few sandy steps away, or could do as we did and also: head to Pt Reyes for a hike/picnic at Bass Lake and Alamere Falls; to Inverness to paddle kayaks on Tomales Bay; to Pt Reyes Station for bakery and lunch treats, to Audubon Canyon Ranch to view the nesting Great Egrets; to Slide Ranch to visit the organic gardens, the ranch animals, and hike to the tidepools; to Bolinas People's Store to pick up a few items; etc. There is also a great day hike from Stinson up Mt Tam to the Pan Toll Ranger Station, which we have enjoyed in the past but somehow slipped away from us this trip b/c we opted to spend that day with our toes in the sand. Evenings at this house are great for another walk on the beach (if only just to check out how the tide and light have changed, to watch the surfers and playful dogs, etc), for cooking dinner together and enjoying meals out on the deck with friends and family, for reading/watching movies/playing board games together, for relaxing in the hottub, and for looking forward to another day of R&R.
