Our lakeside retreat is a large traditional family sized home. It was built in 1900 and has all natural woodwork throughout and a lot of character. Over 2500 square feet.
The downstairs has an open floor plan with a large kitchen, new stainless appliances, exposed brick, wood burning fireplace, and several living areas; so everyone has room to stretch out and relax.
It is the largest home in the neighborhood, and sits on 2 land parcels. So you have a large garden to relax in, including a fire pit, picnic table, and chairs.
One street over is a large private lakeside park with a full basket-ball court, BBQ pits, horseshoes, a large play ground with a merry-go-round, bonfire ring, and a private beach and fishing/swimming pier.
Two streets in the opposite direction is a nice and private sandy beach. There is no other neighborhood in Huron, that has the amenities that we do. It is a very safe and quiet neighborhood, tucked back off the beaten path.
There is also a local sports bar and pizzeria just up the street, as well as a Shell gas station, authentic Mexican restaurant, McDonald's, mom and pop restaurant (best breakfast in town), state nature preserve, 2 additional beaches, and public golf club all within a 2-5 min bike ride. We do provide 2 bikes free of charge to use during your visit.
Rye Beach is a historical neighborhood that was used as a discreet shipping point for rye whiskey during prohibition. It is also the closest Huron city neighborhood, east of Cedar Point.
Ideal location for groups and families.
I am a Huron native and have worked in the tourism industry in the South of France and Ohio, if you have any questions about the area please do not hesitate to ask. I love to help!
