Amazing country house for multi generational vacations, small groups & weddings

Start a new family tradition at this Historic Estate with private waterfront. Situated 1.3 miles south of the town of Beaverton on the South East shore of Lake Simcoe, the property is 2 1/2 acres of park-like setting which will captivate all, with manicured lawns perfect for croquet, badminton, volleyball or touch football. The view of the lake is unparalleled magnificence, with a glorious sunset over the far western shoreline. This is property is for the discerning vacationer - it's one of a kind.

Lake Simcoe is a boater's paradise with easy access to the Trent Canal system, because of the size of lake there is never congestion for boaters, and there are large islands nearby to explore. The fishing is great for small mouth bass and perch, sunfish and trout.

Several golf courses are within minutes away, reasonable rates and well tended fairways give challenge to even the best players.

The house is the original farmhouse built for Reverend McLennan - the farm was later divided into the surrounding cottage properties. It has six bedrooms, large farm kitchen, a large living room, formal dining room and a wrap-around sunporch which is a wonderful place for reading, relaxing and playing those wonderful summer board games!

What an outstanding getaway! A perfect balance of shutting down and being comfortable. The house was just beautiful and historical - but updated with all the (new!) niceties of today. If you want to swim and be outside - it is picturesque. If you want to hang out inside together - plenty of space and a beautiful kitchen. From a slight breeze with a good read to a jump in the lake - this house has it all. I can't wait to come back and enjoy it with friends and family!

Highly recommend - My expectations were completed exceeded!

The house is exactly as described in the advertisement. Very big, very clean, designed beautifully. Everything a guest could need or want was found new and convenient. Elizabeth, who lives very close by, was extrememly helpful, pleasant and accomidating to any and all of our requests. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to be in a quiet, natural setting with friendly hosts.

My family and I stayed here for the July 1st / July 4th Holiday week and had the most amazing time! Aside from the beautiful weather, the cottage itself was so cozy and absolutely perfect! The family played down by the beach and swam during the day, played games on the covered porch in the evenings, watched movies at night, and had the most restful sleep in the plush beds! Some days we took a nice long stroll into town and others we played in the large yard. There was a lot of relaxing and playing to be had! It was the escape we all needed desperately and we will definitely be staying at this cottage again!! Hopefully soon!!
