About Anne McGinty

I am from Atlanta, GA and my husband is from the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. After attending Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, I worked in Australia and traveled in New Zealand where I met my husband! We love San Francisco and our light filled and peaceful apartment. We have recently relocated to Sonoma County to raise our growing family and enjoy coming into the city periodically to walk the neighborhoods we know so well.

Anne McGinty purchased this apartment in 2008
Why Anne McGinty chose San Francisco

We originally lived in the Inner Sunset, then moved to Pacific Heights (which is also a great neighborhood, but with a completely different feel) and ended up moving back to the Inner Sunset. The Inner Sunset has a great location and is a wonderful neighborhood for living like the locals do. There are local restaurants for every budget from $-$$$$. And, we love being near Golden Gate Park because we enjoy the green space on a much more regular basis when it's right there!

What makes this apartment unique

We fell in love with the view and how light and airy the place feels. Sometimes the Inner Sunset feels like one of the undiscovered neighborhoods of the city - it's GREAT and recently some very established boutiques and restaurants have decided to join this increasingly popular spot. The Inner Sunset is the main neighborhood for anyone working at UCSF, including new interns and residents! It's down to earth and you can grab a burrito for $5, but it also has some of the best award-winning restaurants in town including Ebisu (Japanese) and Marnee (Thai). Soon to open is a Nopalito (Mexican) and Pasion (Peruvian in the Fresca Restaurant family) are great date spots for a slightly pricier dinner. We love the peace and quiet with the close proximity to the boutiques and restaurants... It makes for a great walk home after dinner.

If you want to wine & dine with an amazing view, then this is the place for you! The scenery is wonderful, the apt is very comfortable and has all the necessary amenities. Watching the ocean out the windows is spectacular! Two great dinner parties with friends and family. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Roxie Market down the street makes the best sandwiches. A great place to stay if you're in SF!

My husband and I along with our 2-year-old daughter recently stayed in this Inner Sunset apartment for four nights. The apartment was spacious, sunny and had fantastic views. It had everything we needed. It was a stroll away from 9th & Irving (a hopping area of shops and restaurants) as well as a couple blocks from the MUNI. We also walked to Golden Gate Park--the de Young Museum, the Academy of Sciences, the children's playground and carousel, and Stow Lake. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this apartment and the Inner Sunset area.

Sunset paradise

Why sunset paradise? A play on 'Inner Sunset'? Well, yes because we saw the most beautiful sunsets over the ocean! Speaking of the view; it is absolutely breathtaking. See the ocean, Golden Gate Park and downtown. You are up on a hill, so you see fog too. Just a 1 block walk from the N Judah streetcar line although I'll admit it's a steep walk. (But hey this is San Francisco after all. We found the hill charming and memorable and not difficult). We bought a 7-day MUNI pass and it was perfect for everything except BART. Location is perfect to enjoy this neighbourhood; a short walk gets you to a variety of local restaurants and a superb grocery store Andronico's. The apartment is bright with plenty of windows and natural light. It is spacious and quiet. We looked forward to returning 'home' every afternoon after a long day of touring and settling down to make dinner and winding down. The bedrooms and beds are very comfortable; we slept very well.
Do not be concerned of the few reviews here. The fact is that we are the very first to rent this unit and are extremely pleased to be the first to review it. Anne was simply awesome in answering this concern and a number of other questions as well. She was very accommodating.
Some words to describe? Homey. The view. Charming. Bright. Well equipped. Quiet. Incredible experience. Spacious.
So apparently a little criticism adds credibility to a review. So if I had to be nit-picky, I would say the hill and the staircase might be demanding for some. The hardwood is nice but a tad cool so wear socks or bring slippers.
Bottom line: I would return. I could not be more satisfied.
