Great Property, Great View, Great People

Belle vue indeed! We did have some trouble finding the place in the dark when we first arrived, but Elisabeth M came to our rescue! Adam W (the owner) was quick to reply to any concerns via email and Elisabeth and Frederic are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
The property is as described - clean, roomy, light, and with an incredible view of the hills and mountains across the valley. You will need a car as there are no shops within walking distance. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the region as all the major sites between Cannes and Monaco are easily driven to within a hour or so.
The La Forge restaurant in Carros village was within walking distance and provided good service and a good meal, but we mostly cooked for ourselves or had lunch while sightseeing in Nice or surrounding areas. St Paul de Vence is a short drive away and is worth a visit. The La Petite Chapelle restaurant located there is a great place for a leisurely lunch.
Driving in the south of France is not for the faint of heart, but other than getting lost a couple of times, we had no major problems. GPS might have helped, but I'm old school - maps and asking people worked just as well. The locals are friendly and helpful.
The house was able to accommodate 9 adults and a baby with no issues and we got use of the pool, boules, and summer kitchen.
I highly recommend staying at BelleVue - especially if you are a group of four or more persons.

our stay in Villa Belle Vue

I, my wife and our Yorkie did stay in this nice villa for 8 days in April 2013
Everything was as advertised
Fantastic view, fresh mountain air, very quiet, clean comfortable house.
We was met by Elisabeth(houskeeper) as agreed, she did show us the house, handed the keys.
Before our arrival Adam provided us with full info about area places to visit etc.
We did walk to both villages Le Broc and Carros village. It takes 20 min approx one way
Both places must see especialy Carros.
Carros has small supermarket owned by italien french family which has all basic products you need for short stay, so we just one time Visit bigger shop Intermarche near the bridge and all the time on the way back home from Nice
we did stop in Carros and bought missing things.
After full day in Nice, Cannes and surrounding we did always liked to come back home,to have glass of vine on terrace overlooking Vally and enjoing dinner.
Weather was good but it April is to early to use pool.
I suggest this place for people who like to relax and enjoy the home atmosphere in beatiful surroundings
Adam thanks you!
We definitelly will come back in future
If you looking on this review do not hesitate and book it, you will enjoy your stay.

Nice Vacation

3 of 5
Submitted: January 11, 2013 Stayed: November 2012
My husband and I took our four grown children to Southern France for a week. We had an absolutely fabulous time and loved the area immensely! Belle Vue was a very nice villa, the views are wonderful and it was clean, but I agree with another review that the bathroom situation was less than ideal. There are two showers but they are both in the master bathroom which does not have a toilet. Who puts in a master bathroom without a toilet… anyway Southern France was wonderful.

We took the train out of Nice and traveled to Monaco and Ventimilgia, Italy. It was wonderful, the coast is so beautiful, it is breathtaking. We will absolutely return to this area again, there is much to see and do.

The provisioning and supplies were extremely scarce in the villa, not like rentals in the US where provisions left by previous renters remain in the property for the next people use. The housekeeper keeps track of everything and leaves the absolute minimum, down to the squares of toilet paper! The transfer of funds became burdensome with the owner and ultimately all the fees were on us, which was an added cost and not at all fair. Bottom line we loved Nice, but could have done better on the rental.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Laura, so glad that you had a fabulous time!

It would certainly nice to have an extra bath/shower room, one day perhaps! At least it seems to work well for most, even parties of 7 or more!! I must just to point out to readers though, There aren't two showers in the master bathroom, there is one shower and a bath. I think the idea behind having the downstairs WC in a separate room is so that even if the bathroom is occupied for sometime the WC may still be accessed.

Any supplies left by previous clients is of course at their discretion and we cannot account for that. I think you were unlucky this time Laura, clients have been known to leave next to nothing but generally there'll be a few bits to get new arrivals going but PLEASE don't rely on this.

As far as charges go, with transfers to us for deposits and balances we do of course expect to receive the full amounts requested, that is only natural. When returning your security deposit we will settle all of the bank charges as is normally the way BUT if your bank returns the funds due you providing incorrect account details and your bank has deducted costs we must deduct those costs from the balance.

The rates we offer for the rental of our house are net of any bank charges that you may incur at your end when sending funds to us and we make every effort to cover the costs of fund transfers to you from us provided that we are given the correct information.

Lots of space inside and also outside on the numerous teraces of this very well equipped house really not far away form Nizza, but however in a really calm environnement with nicest views over the Var Valley and within walking distance (< 30 minutes) to 2 very nice Provence villages. (Small) grocery store with fresh bred, open even on sunday, in one of them (Le Broc), very good restaurants in both of them.
We came in November, so we didn't try the pool. The chimney and radiators and bed covers provided all heat that was needed (wood is provided). Note however that the house is in shadow around 15 h 30 at that time of the year.
The children liked the football machine. For coffee making, the house has only a Senseo machine.
For the first floor (no photos) with its superbe roof terace, note that the corcscrew stairs and the space up there are not really adapted for very big or very strong people (or very big suitcases). Neither for small children, but they have an optional children stair protection.
We came with 2 families (4+2), that's where the first floor offered a nice a bit more isolated place for 2 persons with its own bathroom, that was perfect. Probably also very nice for families with teenager kids !
We would certainly recommend the house for 6-7 persons.

Great villa, brilliant location

5 of 5
Submitted: September 23, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
We stayed at this property for one week in mid-september - a family group of six adults. The listing gives a very accurate description. The house is in a brilliant location - away from it all overlooking the valley, but within easy reach of the airport, Nice and surrounding areas.

There is plenty of space in the house. It was very clean and well kept with quality furniture and fully equipped. We particularly enjoyed the games - ping-pong, boules, table football - and the pool was warm enough to swim. The housekeeper was charming and helpful. The owner provided good information before we arrived. It was easy to find the property and we stopped of at the Intermarche for provisions on the way.

During our stay, we took the train from Colomars into Nice, walked from the house into Carros and Le Broc and up to Le Broc summit. We drove to the Corniches and Eze. But what we enjoyed the most was spending time at the house relaxing, eating and socialising. We didn't turn the TV on once!
Owner's Response: Thank you for your review ;-)

Sounds like you had a great time, I know what you mean about watching no TV, we did the same in August - such a refreshing change!

Wonderful Mountain Views

4 of 5
Submitted: September 15, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
My husband and some family members stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a 60th birthday and we really enjoyed our stay and only wish it could have been for longer. We found the property easily with our sat nav and with plenty of parking right outside the front door it was easy to unload supermarket shopping. Kitchen was well equipped and enjoyed eating outside and cooked all our food on the wonderful indoor barbecue. Lazed around the pool and made use of the boules court and table tennis. The views from the house are amazing, overlooking the mountains and even on hot sunny days there was a lovely breeze. We had a small dog with us and enjoyed walking into the village and loved how quiet and peaceful it was in the area. The only negative thing I can think of is that this house is geared to a family stay rather than 3 couples as there is plenty of living space, but the bathroom layout might not suit everyone. There is a large bathroom with shower and separate sunken bath next to the master bedroom, but no toilet. Then there is a toilet and basin next to the ground floor twin room and a further toilet and basin upstairs next to the other twin plus single room, which means that there is only 1 shower in total. Finally it is only 30 minutes from Nice airport and we would love to return.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your very kind review :-) Around 2/3 or our client groups consist of two or three couples often with children too and they seem to cope very well with the bathing arrangements by using the facilities in rotation or shifts! We have often used the house as a family with a nine year old and 2 year old along with our friends family of five or even two families each with a toddler and with a little organisation we haven't found the numbers to be a problem at bath time ;-)

Wonderful villa in a beautiful setting

5 of 5
Submitted: August 20, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
We looked at many villas and picked this one as it's within 30 minutes of all the main places we wanted to visit and it did not disappoint. Villa was spotlessly clean, with everything you need for a family holiday from kitchen essentials to toys for the pool. We were greeted by Elizabeth upon arrival who then showed us around and made us feel very welcome. Communication with the owner has been great and Adam supplied us with all the information we would need for our stay from tips on places to visit to clear instructions on how to get to the villa. We were a family of 6 and found the villa spacious and comfortable. The views of the mountains are simply stunning and we spent many evenings just sitting on the terrace looking out. We would highly recommended this villa and look forward to returning in the future.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your review, reading it makes me wish I was there now!

fantastic holiday

We spend a great holiday in the very fortunately located house Villa Belle Vue. The short distance to Nice and Cannes makes it possible to combine a relaxed holiday in the beautiful French mountainside with city life. Villa Belle Vue is an extremely comfortable house with a great view. The house is as comfortable as it can possibly be and has many areas where you can chill out and enjoy your siesta. Also, having a private pool was definitely a great advantage. We have nothing but praise for Villa Belle Vue and recommend it to everyone who is looking for a place to relax, enjoy good weather and sublime surroundings
