Photos and Description of the West Glacier vacation house rental
House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 5-7)

The Guest House is a quaint chalet style 1000 sq ft. home with plenty of private outdoor living areas for you and your family. The mountains of GNP can be seen easily from the north of the home just a mile as the crow flies. The West Glacier Entrance to the park is just 8.2 miles away or 11 miles to the Camas Road Entrance to GNP. The home is on a paved county road, away from the noise of the train and traffic on the HWY 2 canyon corridor.

The Glacier Guest House sits on its own acre that adjoins Flathead National Forest just behind the fire ring area. Its deck and gabled windows enjoy an unencumbered view of Flathead National Forest. The forest adjoins the property with hiking trails and wildlife of its own.

Desert and Belton Mountains frame the Eastern sky and Teakettle Mountain is directly behind the home. You won't have any distracting neighbors to impede your enjoyment of your rest time between excursions. The closest neighbor is the owner (and family) who is available to the guests with any assistance. The home is well maintained and improved upon constantly.

The Glacier Guest House is a fully equipped home perfect for families or those that require wheelchair or handicap accessibility. The GGH's contemporary yet rustic decor make it even more enjoyable stay. Flooring, room spacing, door entrances have all been taken in account for those who require wheelchair accessibility.

The Glacier Guest House is a new home, just built in June of 2012.

There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, one room includes a hideaway pop up twin trundle. All the bedroom mattresses are Tempurpedic for the benefit of the best nights sleep after a long day of hiking. Each bedroom has two windows bringing in lots of light and the feeling of bringing the outdoors in.

The Master has direct access to the main bath with a pocket door. The main bath has both a shower and a tub unit. The shower has a built in seat, elevating and removable hand held shower head, and hand rail. The toilet also has two hand rails for those requiring them. There is a powder room off of the great room, which is not handicap equipped but great for reducing wait time for the main bath.

The Great Room and kitchen/ dining area have expansive views out a gabled ceiling and trapezoidal windows. French doors open to the deck with wildlife and star gazing outside.

The kitchen island is a wonderful conversation piece of a single slab of pine. It seats three on counter stools and the dining area seats four more. A bear proof trash can is provided but remember to be 'Bear Aware'.

The Great Room has a 42 inch hdtv with smart dvd player. The home includes wifi. The Master Bedroom has a 32 inch tv/dvd. Basic satellite channels and Netflix are included to make your stay that much more comfortable.

There is a queen sleeper sofa and a twin sleeper in the Great Room, both with memory foam toppers.

The fire ring area with plenty of adirondack seating is a great bonfire, star gazing and marshmallow outing. The back deck has a five piece dinette and a Weber gas grill for entertaining.

Best of all you don't need to pack linens, towels, etc.. Everything is included. Just stop at the local grocery or Perfect Cuts Butcher Shop and you are set for your vacation get a way. Don't even worry about coffee, sugar, soap or shampoo; all of the little things are stocked for your convenience.

About Brenda

We are an average American family who wanted to build a home for Grandmom and Poppy to come and stay comfortably. We are both Navy Veterans and have two young children. We love the mountains and playing outside. Brenda is a trained classical musician from The Peabody Institute and Tracy is a Physician Assistant.

Brenda purchased this house in 2012
Why Brenda chose West Glacier

We built The Glacier Guest House on our land next to our home, but far enough as to not be intrusive. It is the perfect home base near all of the amenities surrounding Glacier National Park.

What makes this house unique

The back deck of The Glacier Guest House faces into Flathead National Forest and a corridor of over 11 million acres of wild land including Glacier National Park and The Bob Marshall Wilderness Area.

Wildlife including Black Bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, Elk, Moose and White Tail deer are often seen through the windows while seated in the Great Room. The photo of the Moose with the Red flame on the tree shows how close to the home they come.

In fact, We are Bear Aware here and we do provide a special bear-proof trash can to keep any enticements out of reach.

The Glacier Guest House is a quick 15 mins drive or 8.2 miles to the West Glacier Entrance to The Glacier National Park. The house is in one of the nicer quieter areas in the valley within a close proximity to the park.

Most especially the owners live 100 yards away and are eager to be sure that your stay is as comfortable as it can be.

Our stay at the Glacier Guest House was very enjoyable. The house was beautiful and had all conveniences one might want. Brenda was very prompt and helpful whenever we had questions about the house or area. We and our dogs enjoyed walking in the National Forest just outside the door. In short, it was a great place to stay in the Glacier NP area.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the Glacier Guest House. It is a beautiful place to stay. It is very clean and welcoming with comfortable beds. Brenda is a wonderful hostess. She has great suggestions for family activities. We went white water rafting through the Mountain Raft Company, kayaking on Lake McDonald, and enjoyed the Alpine slide and gondola at Big Mountain in Whitefish.

Our family enjoyed grilling on the patio and later making smores in the fire pit. Each evening when we were using the fire pit, we were visited by one or two deer. One of our favorite things was watching the moon and stars over the tips of the pines from the living room vaulted windows. Absolutely beautiful!!

We hope to return someday!

Adorable cabin about 15 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Our family of five had a wonderful stay. The cabin was charming with every amenity and a nice deck and fire pit. Our hosts were helpful and extremely nice. Loved every minute of our stay.

We really enjoyed our time at your place, very convenient to the park and to town. It did not turn out as expected but exceeded our expectations. Your place had everything we needed and some stuff we did not even know we needed. We also enjoyed having your dogs come over and visit. If we should ever want to go back, we certainly would look your place up.
