Husband Larry is retired FL State worker. Wife Linda is a retired registered nurse. We love to boat and fish and always take our dogs along. We have two Chihuahuas and two maltipoos. All four pups have life preservers and enjoy their time on the water and exploring islands. I, Linda, love gardening and collect orchids, ferns, begonias, and succulents. It has been fun landscaping around the cabin.
Larry started an inshore fishing charter business about 5 years ago when he retired. Some clients prefer his flats boat and others like to use the pontoon so more can fish. He loves taking folks fishing and enjoys creating great memories for his clients.
We moved to this location in Weeki Wachee 20 years ago and enjoy it very much. We consider this area a paradise. In January 2012 the place across the street became available. We decided to remodel it and use it as a rental so others could enjoy our haven. Now, I must explain, although we are across the street, we cannot see the cabin for the trees. And we will of course respect your privacy. But if you have a need, we are here to help. We want to share our paradise with others.
We especially enjoy that we are just 4 miles from the conveniences and crowds on the US 19, but yet in this peaceful haven it is laid back and stress free. Seeing the seabirds, boats going by, people enjoying the sunshine as they kayak past us, viewing manatees, river otters, deer, and porpoise from our second story window is always a joy. We never tire of seeing herds of manatees and have enjoyed their touch as they have brushed against us on the river. Cooling off in the 72 degree water refreshes us for the entire day. There are so many sandy private beaches along the winding river to get out of the kayak and take a dip or you may prefer to dip at Rogers Park. Our favorite kayak trip is down the Weeki Wachee River to the connecting Mud River to a narrow creek that has wild orchids growing in the trees. It takes several hours to make the trek and it has been a ritual we enjoy every few months. Recently we put our kayaks in at the Weeki Wachee Springs Attraction ($5.00 fee per kayak to launch from the Springs) and enjoyed a scenic four hour kayak adventure.
