Recently returned home from a superb holiday and can only reiterate the other reviews on this site. Everything was fantastic, from the location, easy access to shops, including the excellent bakery every morning with cakes to die for....and cool beer!

The facilities in the house were second to none with everything you could ever wish for, well decorated and comfy, spacious rooms and large kitchen equipped for every event. Our favourite evenings were spent enjoying a drink whilst enjoying the barbecue.

We would highly recommend Magnolia House to anyone seeking a relaxing break or for sightseeing on the island. We are planning on returning.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Magnolia House.
The large airy rooms were decorated to a very high standard with all mod cons, and with a kitchen to die for, leading out to a secluded terrace area with barbecue to the rear….great for soaking up the Madeira sun or relaxing with a glass of the local wine.
Although set in a quiet location, a short 5 minute walk takes you to the main street of Garajau with bars, restaurants, supermarkets and an awesome bakery/coffee shop, ideal for breakfast or just to sit with a coffee, relaxing and people watching.
We found the locals charming, helpful and with no knowledge of the language, had no problems communicating with them.
The beach is within walking distance, and a short bus ride takes you to the centre of Funchal where you can explore the port and old town.
Wonderful accommodation on a lovely Island.
We will definitely be back.

We had a weeks stay at Magnolia House and thouroghly enjoyed the facilities. The accomodation is tastefully decorated througout and the facilities more than adeqate especially the well equiped kitchen and the large BBQ/oven at the back of the house.
The village shops are a 5 min walk away and have everything you would want including restaraunt's and the bakery for your hot bread and rolls for breakfast.
The beach is 15 mins walk with a cable car to get you down & up.
We will certainly go back and use the facilities again.

We had a long weekend getaway which is feasible thanks to cheap Easyjet Flights, as long as you plan in advance! The house was as described by others, simply a lovely spot with great views. Tastefully decorated throughout and well equipped. Cable TV and Wifi. Terrific BBQ area at the back with seating etc. The airport is 10 mins away and Funchal is 15 mins the other way, so all very convenient. Great bakery , Restaraunt and Mini Market all within 3 mins walk. Would certainly go again

My family and I stopped at Magnolia house for a week in the month of June, we found the house extremely comfortable and spacious occupying two of the four bedrooms, and in fact it’s everything the web page describes and more.
Amenities in the house are everything a holiday maker needs with a spacious functional kitchen with all the gadgets you need to prepare food, comfortable lounge with a big TV screen with Sky for you sport fanatics. Décor though out the house is very pleasing and there is a big barbeque area at the rear of the property.
All bedrooms are also spacious, with two of them facing the sun first thing in the morning, plenty of bathroom space for all.
The house is tucked away in a very quite corner of a busy neighbourhood making the shops only five minutes work away. The house is easily found minutes off the main motorway and five to twenty minutes from Funchal, depending to which road you take.
The bakery in the main street of Garajau is an absolute must to shop every morning for breakfast as the bread is some of the best you’ll taste. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from within the same area.
We also recommend a visit to a secluded beach access by cable car; this is not too far away, 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes walking.

So, if you are looking for a great comfortable house in Madeira you will not be disappointed with Magnolia House.

The house is in a very peaceful spot with sea views from the terraces. It is deceptively spacious and spotlessly clean. The Kitchen is large and well equipped and the outside patio and BBQ area is ideal for afternoons and evenings.
The bedrooms are light and airy and the bathrooms very modern and clean
It also has a garage with off road parking.
It’s close to a small shopping area and a short ride to larger supermarkets.
Funchal airport is only ten minutes in one direction and Funchal town fifteen minutes in the other. We played golf at the nearby course which is in excellent condition.
We would love to go back and would recommend it to anyone.

We have just spent a wonderful week in this house. It is very spacious and comfortable with clean and airy rooms and in a quiet location off of the main street. All the fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard and the kitchen has everything you could possibly want.The south facing rooms are particularly good as they overlook the sea with distant views to the "Deserted Islands". Great to wake up to.The outside barbecue is just the job if that is your scene on a warm balmy evening. We found the closeness of the shops a bonus, being only a 5 mins walk, and also the local bus to Funchal went from here which was frequent, cheap and only a 20 min journey. The nearest beach is only a short walk away, with the last descent being by cable car (1 euro) The local bakery is out of this world baking fresh bread all day. So good we brought loaves back with us! In the local "High Street" there are good restaurants so drinking and driving should not be a problem. You can get by without hiring a car as most buses radiate from Funchal to most parts of the island but should you want to explore the more remote parts of the island then to hire a car for a few days would be advantageous. As most people are aware Madeira was devastated by horrendous storms in Feb but amazingly the island is more or less back to normal but they are keen for tourists to return as this is their main source of income.
All in all we had a great time and a definite plus with this house is that its location is perfect.
We are definitely returning for a longer holiday, with friends.
