Myself and 4 friends took our first adventure to Hawaii for 2 weeks. We used both the upper and lower part of the home and absolutely LOVED it!! We did not want to leave. It is nice being away from the resorts and hotels yet still within a 10 minute drive down to the shops/beaches/restaurants. We really felt like we were Hawaiians. The view from the lanai in the morning is breathtaking and we had everything we needed to cook with and make us feel right at home. Can't wait to come back again! I have referred this home to several friends, family, and co-workers because I know they would enjoy the home as much as we did. Kona is a fun filled city and there is plenty to do on this island. The beaches are the most beautiful I have ever seen. There is something for everyone to do on the Big Island. Sure beats Oahu!

I loved my trip to the Green House. It was nice to be able to come back to the house after a long day of sightseeing. The breeze was cool and the house was relaxing.

Needed to relax and found it.

My family stayed in the upstairs, 2 bdrm part with the connected lanai. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully appointed. The furnishings, accents and table settings were beautiful, yet not ostentatious and they added to the feel of being somewhere special, where it was still ok to touch things ;-) . Being able to walk out on the lanai and watch the sunset, BBQ, or just watch the myriad of birds visiting the unfinished, yet inviting, yard, added much to our tourist-at-home experience.
With a car, the stores and water are not far from the house, yet the house is away from lots of traffic and party noise. From Kona, it is also not terribly far to most of the Big Island attractions. We zip-lined in the Hilo area, saw turtles at Black Sands beach in the southern part of the island, and snorkeled lots on the Kona side. We are looking forward to staying at the Kona Highlands Greenhouse again when we can get back to HI.

We stayed for a week in the 2 BR upper unit for our 2011 Kona vacation. It was a very enjoyable experience. The unit was was well maintained, very clean, comfortable, and updated. We liked staying in a residential area away from the tourists, so we could live like locals But, we were just 10 minutes from downtown Kona and the airport, so the tourist amenities were close when needed. We also liked having a full kitchen for making our breakfast and the occasional dinner when we chose not to eat out.

I would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives.
