We are long time residents of San Diego and have lived in multiple areas. When we started looking for a home to buy as a vacation rental, we knew The Carriage House was the one. The fact that it was in the nicest neighborhood in San Diego was just a bonus. All in all though, it was just too perfect...our goal was to fund horses rescues and here was this beautiful place that used to house the horse carriages and families. It was meant to be. Also, the energy of this place is amazing. We felt calm and at home the very first visit.
What I love about this place is how centrally located it is. If you want to visit San Diego and be close to everything, then this is your place. At the same time though, you get to get away from the hustle and retreat to your own oasis in a quite neighborhood. Walk to the local shops and have coffee. You'll find great restaurants less than one mile away. Actually our favorite restaurant in all of San Diego is called the Red Door and is so close you hardly need to start the car. The funny thing is we've sat at that restaurant for so many nights and over many glasses of wine, discussed how we could start a business to fund horse rescues. I guess this house was listening.
