Upper East Side Apartment Rental Photos and Description
Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Clean, cozy, and quiet (excellent for sleeping), fully furnished one-bedroom apartment on the top/5th floor of an elevator building (no doorman, but onsite super). Located on 82nd Street between 1st and York Avenues, the apartment is fully stocked for the comforts of city living. Sleeping is available for two, with a kitchen table set-up for four, should you want to entertain during your stay. All towels, kitchen cookware and bed linens included. Coin operated washer/dryers are located in the basement.

The apartment's living room faces the street and has nice southerly views. An historic Hungarian church is located across the street and the unit has a view corridor to 79th Street over the church's plaza/parking area. This same church has a lovely neighborhood farmer's market each Saturday between Memorial Day and Labor Day; great for buying fresh fruits and vegetables from Long Island and New Jersey. The apartment's bedroom faces the rear of the building and is very quiet. Bedroom is on the dark side (a full size window faces the building's light well), but is excellent for sleeping. The unit has lots of closet space for a NYC one-bedroom apartment. The bathroom features a tub and shower combination. Flat screen TV in the living room with wireless entertainment box that includes NetFlix, Pandora, YouTube and DVD player. Wireless Internet throughout the apt. A wireless printer is also available.

Excellent NYC gourmet food shopping is available at Agata & Valentina (79th/1st Ave) two blocks away, the Vinegar Factory (91st/York) and Eli's (80th/3rd Ave). Suburban style grocery stores are located one and two blocks away; a 24-Hour CVS is located across the street.

Check-in and Check-out times are OPEN. I realize that traveling to NYC can be a long and tiring journey. The last thing I want is a guest to feel rushed to arrive and depart, or to be left on the street if they arrived on an early morning flight; i.e. a red-eye.

I take pride in the furnished rentals that I offer. See traveler reviews at two of my other listings. VRBO #381873 and VRBO #283828. Se habla espanol.

I lived in NYC in the 1990s early 2000s and graduated from Columbia University. I live primarily in Los Angeles, but do come to NYC frequently to visit friends and my apt. (you will likely meet me when you check in). I love the city and the Upper East Side is my favorite neighborhood. I enjoy being near Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the East River Promenade.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2008

This is my second home, although I have very few personal possessions here.

For anyone who has stayed in a NYC apartment, you know that noise and light can be an issue when trying to sleep. What I love about this apartment is that the bedroom is located at the rear of the unit. It is very quiet and dark. The living room faces the street and has great natural light and nice southerly views.

Awesome Christmas in NYC!

Spent Christmas in Gina's lovely Upper East Side apartment! This was our second time staying there, and it truly felt like our home away from home. We arrived on December 19 to extremely warm weather, which lasted for about five days until it turned back to normal winter weather in NYC. As usual, the apartment was clean and inviting; and Gina had left a "welcome package" for us to start off our vacation. The kitchen had been remodelled since our last visit, and it was a pleasure to cook our traditional Christmas dinner! We spent 11 nights at the apartment, and we loved every minute of it. Our days were filled with shopping (great sales before the holidays began), going to plays where we saw some of the most wonderful acting (Daniel Craig / Rachel Weisz / Sarah Jessica Parker / Jeff Goldblum / Laurie Metcalf / Mary Beth Peil / Blythe Danner / Ciaran Hinds), visiting museums (International Centre of Photography / MOMA / Metropolitan Museum of Art), attending newly-released movies (American Hustle / Mandela - A Long Walk to Freedom / Philomena), and exploring parts of the city that we had not had an opportunity to visit last time around. We found an awesome new breakfast spot on Lexington Avenue (Lennox Hill Grill), and we also visited some or our old haunts from our 2012 visit. By the time we arrived home in the evenings, we were pretty exhausted; so the comfort and coziness of the apartment was just what we needed after our long days. As always, Gina checked in regularly to make sure everything was OK. We absolutely love this apartment, and we are already thinking about our next visit. As stated previously, this is our second time staying at Gina's NYC apartment, and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. Its proximity to restaurants, shopping, subways, museums, movie theatres, grocery stores, pharmacies, and practically anything else you could want make it a wonderful place to stay. We would highly recommend Gina's apartment to anyone wishing to experience NYC at its finest!

Perfectly Situated Upper East Side Apartment

Having spent two months at Gina's other property in LA, we arrived at the NYC apartment just two days after Hurricane Sandy, so we weren't sure what to expect. Much to our surprise, on the Upper East Side, it was business as usual except for the fact that the grocery stores were a little bare. New Yorkers are certainly a resilient lot! Gina called a number of times during our first few days to make sure we were OK there. The photos were definitely accurate, and we found the properly perfectly suited to our needs. There was plenty of room for two people, and the kitchen was quite functional, which was important to us as we cooked many of our meals. The building was secure, and it was very quiet in the evenings. The apartment was perfectly situated, and everything we could possibly want was located close by and within walking distance . . . groceries (Fairway Market), pharmacy (CVS), diner (East River Diner), hair salon, drycleaners, movie theatres, delis, fresh fruit vendors, farmers market, post office, coffee shops, bagel shop (East Side Bagel Cafe), museums, and eateries (Hale and Hearty) . . . and those were just between E. 62nd and E. 92nd streets. We very quickly became familiar with the NYC subway and purchased a metro card the day after we arrived. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, and the East River Promenade were all close by. The 92Y on the corner of E. 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue was recommended by Gina and turned out to be our find of the trip . . . we saw Dustin Hoffman, Jeremy Irons, Naomi Watts, and Joy Behar at this wonderful institution. The Independent Film Center in lower NYC was also a great spot for indie films and retro movies. We took advantage of TKTS in Times Square to purchase discount tickets for Broadway / off-Broadway shows and saw many major actors while we were there. The harbour cruise was lovely, and it also brought home to us the devastation of Hurricane Sandy as we could see the damage it had done to the lower part of Manhattan, Liberty Island, Governor's Island, and Ellis Island. We would recommend this property without hesitation, and we are currently considering our return trip to NYC and this apartment. Having spent 7 weeks in NYC, we realized what a wonderful city it is; and the apartment was a lovely place to relax and unwind each day. If you want to experience the best of NYC and live in a safe neighbourhood, this is the place to be! And Gina was only a phone call away if needed.

New York Made Easy

Our month of October 2012 was spent here in Gina's urban apartment. We knew immediately upon arrival that we had made a perfect choice for our holiday in the big city. Our most important requirements were all met : clean rooms, safe surroundings and a comfortable gathering room to relax after full days exploring New York. The location proved perfect for easy access to buses, subways and taxis that took us to concerts, museums, theatres, and parks. We are avid walkers as well and enjoyed discovering the nearby neighborhoods along the East River, Madison Avenue, Central Park and 5 th Avenue.
The apartment has a fine elevator, more storage than expected, a comfortable bed, a well equipped small kitchen, two sofas, a nice dining table and an excellent large TV equipped with basic channels. The light from the large front room windows was so appreciated. The great hot showers and availability of paper products made up for the tiny space given to the toilet area. The noise was minimal and less than expected from a city dwelling. Being on the top (fifth) floor meant we had no sounds coming from overhead.
We were grateful for Gina's professional dealings in procuring the apartment and with follow through phone calls and emails to make sure we were comfortably settled. Hurricane Sandy came in during our final three days of our visit and Gina made sure we were doing well. Luckily, with the exception of a few trees down several blocks away, this area was not effected by the storm.
We recommend this apartment without any reservations. It made our month long visit one of our finest vacations!

Spent the month of September in this cozy one bedroom apartment in Manhattan. On the upper east side it is in a lovely safe neighborhood close to Central Park, the MET and the East River. Great restaurants and gourmet grocery stores close by. Excellent farmer's market across the street every Saturday. Gina the owner very helpful and gracious. I will definitely stay here again. Great memories!
