About The Owner

We are a family of 4 living on the Front Range of Colorado.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
Why The Owner chose Redstone

After many years of exploring Colorado, we settled on the Crystal River Valley as we believe it is the most beautiful valley in the state. It also provides us the ability to live in a small community while having access to all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer.

What makes this cabin unique

We love to sit by the river, relax and enoy the mountain views. We hike the East Creek Trail and bike Coal Creek Canyon. We enjoy Penny, Avalanche Creek and Glenwood Springs hot springs. The kids love to walk to the General Store or bring an activity and enjoy the community park. We love the live music events at the park and walking the Boulevard meeting both visitors and residents alike. We love to spend time as a family relaxing, enjoying the outdoors and taking day trips to explore - Aspen, Crested Butte, Marble, etc...

Simply JOYFUL

We drove 1,200+ miles from Houston but it was worth every single mile...It is not a cabin (as the title says), it is a "full" house with huge "old school" fireplace, heated floors (very nice feature when the air outside is -15 degrees), fully stuffed kitchen (looks like recently updated with new appliances)...they also got a good collection of old vinyl records with jazz and 60-70s rock-n-roll hits with old player....very nice ...also steam shower was a "hit" (as I said when you come from the outside with -15 air temperature - it is a nice cold air/steam contrast therapy :-))....so, overall - it is a great, warm house in a quite "everyone-knows-everyone" village...The best part - are the owners, who were kind enough and provided us with snow sleds (there is a nice hill about 2 minutes from the house with ~300 feet snow sledding path...gets you going down the hill up to 15 miles per hour....not bad for the sledding )....so, if you want to peacefully enjoy cold weather, deep snow and warm house - this is the place....definitely coming back next year.

Redstone is an amazing small town with substantial historical significance, but it has remained charming, personal, and has little commercialization. The Crystal River Valley is the prettiest in all of Colorado, and the property the cabin sits on backs to a private frontage on the river with lounges for relaxing or happy hour. Huge aspens cover the property and the color in the fall is amazing. The cabin is simple and rustic, but has some great updates....a functional kitchen and updated bath with a GREAT steam shower. A well tended private yard with a tree swing and deck provide plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors. Wonderful bike paths abound from just outside Carbondale all the way to Aspen. You'll enjoy your evening next to a roaring fire in the stone fireplace. You'll leave a piece of your heart in Redstone like I did :)

What a great place! We had such a wonderful time staying in this cabin during our annual Colorado hiking trip. Clean, comfortable, beautiful setting, GREAT kitchen and bathroom, nicely decorated, quaint but modern, WIFI, etc. No TV BUT a huge plus was the vintage vinyl record collection and turntable. It was so much fun to spin some tunes, BBQ on the back porch and drink a glass of wine out by the river. Redstone is a fun historic town and great point of departure for your daily hiking or fishing trips. The town has a couple of good restaurants -our fave was the Crystal Cafe...fun at night and friendly. The cabin is located in the middle of town -a walk away from the General Store. Will definitely stay here again in the future. The owner is very nice and friendly too -what a find!

We were very pleased with the cabin in Redstone! The furniture was comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, large fireplace, there was a TV with a DVD player and a fenced in yard. The back property led to the river--what a view!!!!
The small town of Redstone was friendly and lots to explore--our 2 year old had a blast!!!! Each day my husband, son and I would walk down the road to the general store (a must do!), the playground, small park on the river and the Crstal Club Cafe (very good food!) We will definitley be back next year.

We loved our stay at Redstone. It was cozy, charming yet had all the amenities we needed. So peaceful . . . we had deer crossing through the field in back. Kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom was awesome! There is so much natural beauty in the area and you have the option to be super active, or to just relax. The scenery was spectacular. We'll be back.

Great Get Away From The City!

We have stayed at the cabin numerous times over the last couple of years, and it has always been a pleasurable place to stay, recreate, relax and enjoy the beauty of Colorado.

The cabin is decked out with all the ammenities you need, and more, and we always look forward to going back for more.

The kids love to ride their bikes and scooters into town, go to the local General Store, swim at the pool at the Redstone Inn (in summer) or go to the Hot Springs at Avalanche Ranch (nearby) or go into Glenwood Hot Springs for the big pool. We have had wonderful hiking adventures up to the marble quarry inthe nearby town of Marble during the summer, enjoyed the jingle bells of the horse drawn sleighs under the sparkling winter night skies and loved the quiet mornings sipping coffee on the river out the back door.

I highly recommend this cabin for your next mountain adventure, or just to relax and read a great book in front of a warm fire.

My only complaint is that neither bedroom had anything bigger than a single bed. I was informed of this going into our stay. I really liked everything else about the cabin. The yard was wonderfull and my granddauhgter enjoyed it as much as myself. The kitchen was well supplied and beautiful ,as was the bathroom.

I have been to this cabin twice and each time I have not been disappointed. The first visit was with my husband and I. We enjoyed the town, the shopping and the restaurants. It is very quiet, super quaint but has all the amenities. Sitting out back by the river is super relaxing.

On this last trip, my sister and I brought our youngs sons. The playground was fun - and despite it being chilly - the boys spent a LOT of time wading in the river. We found plenty of hiking nearby as well. Because it is such a friendly town, with an adorable general store, the boys felt so grown up walking to purchase eggs or milk or things like that. They just don't have opportunities for that kind of independence at their own homes. It was fun to see how proud they were coming home with their new items. And they loved riding their bikes and scooters as well.

I absolutely love this cabin and hope to return again soon.

This place really is special; truly a place to enjoy and relax. It is a great location, lovely and charming. Just the right amount of mountain character -the river is close and soothing to settle over. The town is quaint and everyone was very nice. The cabin is outfitted with every detail and items that you could possibly need. You won't be disappointed.
