A brick, century farm house with wrap-around porch, overlooking Lake Ontario as part of By Chadsey's Cairns Winery and Vineyard.
Besides the five bedrooms and a small loft, ( and Harry Potter sleeping area under the stairs) the house features 4 common areas of various sizes easily separated off for noise containment, two wood stoves, hard wood and pine floors, two staircases to the second floor, a large well-equipped kitchen with a traditional tin ceiling.
It is ideal for three to four couples or two families, with a bathroom on each floor (one has a great soaking tub and the other great shower), lots of space and much to do and see.
The 200-year-old farm is fun to explore, with a right of way to the Lake, includes 14 acres of grapes, 4 barns, a brick apple house (now a wine tasting store), a pioneer cemetery, a lovely pear and apple orchard, two long laneways, a creek and the Cairns after which the winery is named.
A complimentary bottle of wine awaits your check in and guests are invited to try a few complimentary tastings in the apple house during their stay. Depending on the time of year, we can arrange for guests to eat among the vnes or on the deck behind the store.
For the adventurous we also offer an opportunity to join our staff for a morning of hand-work in the vineyard.
With three of the province's best beaches just a short drive away,
(Sandbanks and the Outlet 20 min., North Beach 8 min) our complimentary parks pass will be well used during the summer months.
Our house is only 5 minutes by car from Wellington which has many amenities, including a grocery store, convenience store with movie rental, 5 restaurants, post office, artist studios, spa, hair cutting salon, library, museum, liquour store, churches, boat rentals, fishing supplies, art gallery, boat launch, garage, pharmacy and hardware store. it also has a beach and boardwalk, charming central park, and a 9 hole but challenging golf course. (There are several 18 hole courses within 30 minutes of the house)

'The County' as we locals refer to our almost island, with a certain confident imperialism, is a hub of creative activity at almost any time of the year. Over 300 artists make up the Arts Council. There is a vibrant live music scene. The Festival Players provide professional theatre during the summer months, and there are several amateur theatre initiatives each year.
Besides our winery there are another 30 (give or take) building a great reputation for fine wines on our unique calcerous limestone sub soils. Every winery, like ours features a range of events throughout the year, and like us, many encourage volunteer pickers to participate in harvest each year.
If you haven't been to a traditional drive-in theatre, ever or in years, then don't miss the County's ever popular example.. a unique cultural experience. Regular cinema is offered in Picton, Belleville and Trenton, all within 30 minutes of the house.
Besides the pharmacy, Wellington, has a chiropractor, physiotherapist, and a dentist. Hospitals in Picton and Trenton are close by in case of emergencies.
