Our suite has two bedrooms with a Queen bed and two twin beds. The living room has a double futon that is plush and like new. The kitchen contains a fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender and coffee maker. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer solely for use of the suite. The deck faces the ocean and has chairs and a small BBQ - we provide BBQ tools. There is a nice lawn right outside the suite door which is great if you bring a dog with you or the kids need to stretch their legs in the safety of our yard.
Chris and Helen Edley live upstairs with their teenage daughter, a mostly indoor cat and the most amazing dog you will ever meet. They own a graphic design company, which, in addition to designing and producing interpretive signs for parks, also supports the international geocaching community with products and services through 'We hope that all our guests have a wonderful and memorable holiday and enjoy exploring Victoria and the local parks as much as we do'.
We looked at this home for 2 years while our previous home languished on the MLS. We kept hoping and wishing that one day we could move our family in and eventually our previous home sold and lucky for us, this home was back on the market.
We fell in love with the acoustically perfect opera hall that the first owner had built in the home. Also the grand foyer is a designer's dream. The home is full of solid BC wood, from the floors, to the windows to the doors. The carving of the BC dogwood on the inside cedar door is a showpiece. We also love the Garry Oak and Arbutus ecosystem that the home is gently tucked into. Our building inspector was absolutely awed by the earthquake resistant foundation that the first owner had insisted on. When there are tremors, we feel absolutely nothing. Also, our 13' thick walls mean that we have lovely deep window ledges in every room.
