Better than expected
This was the first time i stayed at a vacation rental - i usually stay in hotels. And now I'll never go back. I got a WHOLE apartment instead of a dingy room with a bathroom, for LESS than what I was paying at hotels.
I come to New York often because of work and so it was such a relief to find someplace to stay that actually felt like home. When I got to the apartment both Damon and Erik were there to check me in and they were able to fill me in on all the best places to eat in the area.
I was close to a supermarket, the trains, and pretty much everything i needed. When I arrived I was thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness and the warmth of the apartment - i was never once cold.
All in all a great apartment and a great company - I will definitely be staying with them again.

Midtown rental in Nov 2011
I was very reluctant renting an apartment in NYC as I have read some very frighting reviews. In the end I went with my instinct, and I am glad I did!
The people at Stay Smart were very kind and quick to answer questions, and the apartment was exactly as described. The check in was a breeze and they were very patient (as we got lost twice in Manhattan). I cannot emphasize enough that this company is great to do business with and I will be using them again for my next stay in NYC, as well as recommending them to my friends and family.
Moving on to the apartment, we stayed at the 3S, 4 people, and it was the perfect size. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, shower worked, coffee machine with complimentary WIFI. The only thing it was missing was a microwave. There is a grocery store around the corner and plenty of restaurants in the area.
The one tiny complaint was that it got very warm in the apartment and had to sleep with the windows open, but other than that, great place to stay for the price! Even better was the service provided by Stay Smart...good job guys!

NY Apartment on First
We booked both 4N and 3S for our stay in NY to accommodate 4 couples. It was great to be met at the apartments by the agent to explain everything about the apartment. Unfortunately this apartment did not meet our expectations and was not exactly as was described on the net. The second bathroom did not have a wash basin and was really really small. The floor in the lounge slopped badly and the actual finish of this apartment was nowhere near as good as 4N in the same block. I would recommend to pay the extra and stay in 4N as it was by far a better apartment.
As for 4N the main bedroom faced onto 1st Ave and was extremely noisey as well as stuffy and hot (we were there when it was cool so am not sure how it would be when the weather was hotter).
The location of this apartment is great for those travellers who which to explore NY on foot and use the subway. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and a supermarket close by all of whom offer great service and products.

I stayed here during a business trip - so i was out almost the entire day. Coming back to the apartment just felt so much better than going back to a hotel. Hotels almost reinforce the fact that I'm away from my family - but this apartment felt like I was at home. So even though my family wasn't with me, it was almost like they were.
Check in was a breeze and Damon was able to tell us everything we needed to know about the local shops, food joints, etc. And no matter what question we had Damon or his associates were very quick in answering.
Will definitely be coming back.

Great place in Midtown
This was our first trip to New York. We rented the apartment for four adults. The flat was great and very comfortable. The apartment descriptions and pictures are accurate. The owners are very friendly and do everything easier for you. The location is brilliant and very safe. We never used a taxi, the subway stations are close to the apartment. The apartment is a nice place to be, if you don’t want to be among crowds of tourists. The neighborhood is quiet and very close animated places.
