Beyond Our Expectations!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful beach home with us! My husband and I decided on an impromptu stay and found the Bay View House online. We had an immediate response from Janice that the house was available that day and she had us settled into the house right away! We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, warm, QUIET and CLEAN home. We have rented 7 homes in various locations over the past years and yours is in our top 2. Janice has paid such attention to details that most people don't think of when renting their homes (such as a brand new sponge in the plastic wrapper) in the very well equipped, kitchen. There are lint rollers to help with our furry friends and you would never know the home was pet friendly it was so clean. The utility area where you can just toss your keys, cell phone and forget all about clutter! The back pack and binoculars in the closet for exploring. The lights are all on dimmers to accommodate any mood. The open floor plan makes it easy to be in the kitchen whipping something up while visiting with the living area AND enjoying the view all at the same time. We enjoyed the bright and cheery sun room for coffee and afternoon gazing at the bay. The hot tub was wonderful for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. We loved the Hitchcock movies on the amazing reclining leather sofa with fuzzy blankets! Most vacation homes seem to have "second hand furniture" but here the tasteful decor and quality of furnishings made this feel like a brand new home! We loved having the spa quality towels warmed and dried by the warmers which is another detail you don't think would be necessary until you live in a coastal climate. It was also nice that there was plenty of space to put our things away and I never had a feeling like it was someone's house we "borrowed" as the owner's essential spaces/closets were separated from the guest spaces. The bed linens were wonderful and comfortable heated mattresses which made for a restful sleep. The ceiling fans helped us stay warm from the easy pellet stove in the main room. The location of the house was perfect for heading to restaurants, shopping etc. The drive to bodega head was short where we saw a whale, coyote and countless birds. I won't spoil the surprise but each evening there is something magical that happens right around dusk in the Bay View House and we loved waiting for this moment! We couldn't decide which was better day or evening! We stayed an extra night!

Fabulous weekend getaway
Wonderfully decorated and cozy house for 2 couples. We have stayed at many vrbo houses, this by far was the best stocked. The house was roomy for 2 couples. The decor was warm and cheery at the same time. We had a lovely stay and wished we could've stayed longer! Janice, the owner, was super responsive and caring, and made sure we had everything we needed. We intend to come back!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay. We really try to make Bay View your home away from home (plus some extra little touches). Our home is very popular with couples (and up to 5 people when using the extra double bed in the living space). We often hear from guests wishing they had booked more nights...and it is not uncommon for guests to add nights once they are already staying at the house. Unfortunately, we are often already booked, but we do accommodate these requests when possible. Thanks again!

Perfect Home in a Perfect Place
My family and my twin brother (visiting from Ireland) spent 2 nights at Bay View. Not only were we blessed with fab weather but our stay was so much more enjoyable because this rental property was simply perfect. The owner has left no stone unturned in terms of making your stay comfortable and relaxing. Extremely clean, well laid out and modern furnishings... we could not have asked for more. I highly recommend this property.

Excellent choice
Stayed two nights here and was kicking myself for not doing it longer. Very well maintained home with everything you could ever want plus more. Very clean and Janice is a gracious host. She made sure that everything was in working order before my arrival. There was a new heat stove which I didn't think I would need, but I did !! So peaceful ..and a very cool memorial within walking distant to the house. My dog loved the back yard so much, she didn't want to leave either!! Will stay here again...soon I hope =)

"PERFECT"
"PERFECT"
"Bay View" house was the "PERFECT" first time renting a house for our stay at Bodega Bay.....we have been over there MANY times in a RV trailer but wanted to make our 25th Wedding Anniversary a "SPECIAL STAY"!!! Janice came through for us with 100% SATISFACTION!!! What a CUTE and COZY house to stay in! So CLEAN, COMFY, and ROMANTIC even with our children there!! ALL the "Special" thoughtfulness that Janice does for your stay makes this house so "Comfortable". The FULLY STOCKED kitchen makes the cooking so EASY!! This house has it ALL!! We are hoping to return SOON!

Great home in Bodega
We had a great stay at Bay View. There were four of us there for a ladies weekend getaway and the home suited our needs perfectly. We really liked having the open space between the kitchen and living room as well as the sun room for morning coffee sipping. As another reviewer stated the home has recently been renovated and is furnished with newer decor. There is nothing dingy about this place as is the case with many other homes we have stayed in. The owner is really great and very responsive. All of us would stay here again!

Janice has thought of everything
We knew Bodega Bay would be gorgeous and, from the photos and reviews, we knew Bay View would likely be perfect for our holiday weekend vacation. What we didn't know was exactly how much the thought the owners have put into the "little things" in the house.
Little things like extra toothbrushes under the bathroom sink (I forgot mine), a pizza cutter in the kitchen, the pellet stove being stocked with starter pellets for your first fire, various size wine and martini glasses, plastic cups for kids, towel warmers for a cool morning, a full rack of spices, cooking oils and condiments, and on and on and on. Janice has thought of all of these things in putting together Bay View and it really makes a difference.
Oh, and there was a fantastic media collection, including guidebooks, maps and DVDs, with several Hitchcock films. We watched "The Birds" on Saturday night before exploring the sites in the movie on Sunday. All these small touches really add up to one great experience.
The hot tub was out of commission for this trip, so we didn't get to check it out, but Janice was extremely communicative and apologetic, trying to get the problem resolved before we arrived. She was able to offer a pro-rated deal for the weekend in exchange for the inconvenience.
Bay View is close to everything. On my morning jogs, I would run over to the Children's Bell Tower and through the Bodega Dunes campground then across Highway 1 up into the hills for a spectacular sunrise view of the entire bay and outlying ocean.
As a photographer, the area is a dream, and the house afforded me easy proximity to stunning views. I could pop out of the house, head five minutes up to Salmon Creek and Miwok Beach or over to the marina for a few photos before heading back to the house for lunch or a quick nap.
In all, it was everything I'd hoped for on my 40th birthday weekend. As we left, we knew we'd be back for another weekend very soon.

Thank you for the lovely review! I am happy to say the hot tub is finally repaired after the winter storms damaged the electrical system (we had to wait weeks for the parts!) Now it is better than ever with a new heater and rotating massage jet! I am glad you enjoyed the house and area. I too am a photographer and the walk (or drive) up our road to look back at Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean is truly an amazing view. Little trivia - that is the road (Bay Hill on the other side of Hwy 1)) where many of the driving scenes in "The Birds" were filmed

Absolutely charmed...
When we walked in I just kept saying, "I am so happy, I am so happy!" My first impression was: beautiful furnishings and decor, lovely collected artworks, a light open floor plan, new sponge on the kitchen sink (yes, I noticed too), binoculars, doggie gear, well stocked kitchen, towel warmers, view, lovely yard, computer, washer and dryer, sun room, very clean and quiet. As the night progressed there were many more discoveries and surprises. By the way, if you haven't tried a heated mattress pad, you are missing out!
As promised, shops, beaches, restaurants and hikes are all easily accessible. We walked from the house to the Children's Bell Tower (it was so moving), and managed to make it out the paved road to catch a glimpse of the ocean.

Great Place
This home is so clean and cozy - very cute decor and so comfortable and pretty. Very close to the shops in Bodega Bay and only a five minute drive to the bay area where you can buy live crabs and fresh oysters. Janice was great at communicating about the logistics and making sure all of our needs were taken care of.

Needing a change of scenery and some relaxation after the holidays we decided to head for the coast and opted to stay at a rental house instead of our usual B & B or hotel that allow pets. We picked the Bay View House in Bodega Bay and found a new favorite home away from home. It was a perfect jumping off point to travel north, south or inland for our day trips. And, comfy? Wow! The bath towels were on the warmer when we arrived. Each bed had a heated mattress pad (loved it), including the day bed in the living room, which was outfitted with lots of pillows and big enough for both of us to stretch out and watch movies, read and snooze. We especially appreciated the close parking where we could load and unload upon our arrival, day trips and departure.The glass enclosed sunroom was a big plus. There we could soak up the sun after a cold and windy walk or exhausting day trip. Sam, our Border Collie, loved roaming around inspecting the fenced back yard. And, we were at ease knowing he could not get out and end up lost in the neighborhood. The well selected art; treasured keepsakes; modern, well appointed appliances; inviting, comfortable seating; and all around beautiful seaside-themed ambiance far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!

We truly appreicate our convenient location to all the "hot spots" in Bodega Bay and Sonoma County. We also enjoy being so close to everything while still having a serene and peaceful spot to relax in at the end of the day. Our 1/4 acre wind=protected and fenced yard is a special treat for us to have on the coast (along with our sun-room)! So glad you enjoyed your stay.
