Private Beach Vacation Home

My two best girl friends and I chose this beautiful beach home for our first Girls Getaway Trip. We were looking for somewhere to go where we could reconnect and have conversations without our kids interrupting and also enjoy some nice warm sunshine and ocean views. This home provided this perfectly. We had perfect weather each day with full sunshine and temps in the 80s and 90s. The breeze off the ocean was wonderful, so it never felt too hot. This beach home is so unique because it completely provides you with your very own pristine private pool with a gorgeous view of the ocean without having to worry about anyone else bothering you. We also did enjoy venturing out of the gate of the property onto the beach for walks and to swim in the ocean. This is the most perfect swimming beach as it is so sandy and the water was warm. The locals that we met were so friendly and most only spoke Spanish. I found this wonderful as I then had an opportunity to brush up on my Spanish. It was so nice to feel like we were experiencing real Mexico and still have the comforts of home. We really appreciated the property manager, Veronica, who is fluent in English for all of the help she was to us. She helped us to decide where to eat, and drove us into town to get groceries. There is a cute little store just a block or so down the sand road that we enjoyed walking to to get a few remaining things. They have a water cooler with filtered water in the house so it was very nice to not have to worry about buying bottled water. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. My favorite part was just having our own space and pool with the most gorgeous ocean view! I am now looking forward to bringing my husband and children back for a family vacation sometime in the future. Thank you to the owners of this home and the property manager for providing my friends and I with such a memorable and relaxing vacation!

This incredible beach home has everything you need for a true tropical getaway...privacy, serenity, and beauty. On arrival, we were kindly greeted by the property manager, Veronica, who conveniently took us to Walmart to get any groceries we needed for our stay. She was readily available during our entire stay. The house itself was immaculate and fully stocked with basic necessities. The large, pristine pool and its proximity to the ocean is a definite highlight of this home! After many walks along the beach, viewing other homes along the coast, it was evident that this beach home has the best pool in many ways. Not only does it have a shallow area for kids, it is also fenced in keeping small children close by and creating privacy for adults, yet maintaining a clear view and easy access to the ocean. We also enjoyed having a massage therapist come to the house for complete relaxation and privacy, and at a great price! Walking to nearby restaurants for fresh, inexpensive seafood was another highlight, in particular the shrimp at D'Davids. We also enjoyed the short drive to Progreso for some shopping and good food. We also felt very safe and secure during our stay here. The neighbors and locals are very friendly people yet respect one another's privacy. I will definitely want to come back for a longer stay to investigate all that Merida has to offer! This vacation home offered the beauty and many conveniences of a large resort, but the privacy and serenity we experienced cannot be compared!

Laid back and relaxing

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Chuburna - the house is exactly as advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the beachfront location. There is definitely room for 4 people if necessary but we enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves.
Pros: location, property clean and well maintained, supplied drinking water was a lifesaver, air conditioning in bedroom much appreciated, local people were friendly and helpful, owners answered all our pre-trip questions promptly, great local vibe, pool was fantastic, very relaxing.
Cons: limited water pressure, bright lights from neighbour's yard made it feel like we were in a baseball stadium every night, lots of stray dogs everywhere in Chuburna and Chelem - very sad, delayed responses from property manager when we asked questions (I understand the delay is quite normal for the locals, but it was a bit frustrating for us)
We only ate out once - at Soma in Chelem - and it was lovely. We would recommend Randy at Yucatan Snook if you want to go fishing and a trip into Merida if you want to do any serious shopping. Having a vehicle is recommended as made daily trips into Chelem or Progreso for groceries.

Beautiful vacation paradise-pool and ocean outside your door! Lovely patio to relax on, fenced in yard of sand , seagulls and pelicans flying overhead, coconut and banana trees, flowering bushes, sound of ocean waves, what could be more perfect? Truly a paradise ! The home has all the modern conveniences and is very clean and lovely. Veronica, the manager, is readily available and can be reached by phone. The owners, Gina and Matt, could not be more helpful. Truly, a wonderful time was had by all in this tropical paradise and we will return!!

Fabulous family vacation!

Our time in Mexico was fantastic! We cannot recommend this location and home any higher, and would give it 10 stars if possible. If you and your family are seeking a quiet, safe, beach vacation to unwind and spend time together, this home is your answer! We felt completely welcomed by the home manager who met us at the airport and helped us with shopping and orienting us! The home was clean and well maintained, with all the supplies we would want and need. The photos were completely accurate, showcasing both their stunning location, luxurious pool, and great home amenities.
Most important to us was the excellent family time it facilitated. We took long walks along the beach and played for HOURS in the pool. We were able to unwind inside and watch more cable than we have at home (a bonus for our kids!). The air conditioning kept us cool at night, and wifi kept us connected just enough to home.
We loved all of our time there, and, in fact, never left! We loved being able to walk to at least 2 restaurants, and loved our daily walks to the fruit market and back home along the beach. We especially loved Los Delfinos for it's fresh shrimp and delicious empanadas and paloma!
We have already recommended this to many other families seeking a unique, relaxing get away where you can unwind and enjoy the beach and your own private pool. My favorite memories are watching my husband and son boogie board each day while my girls picked shells and made sand castles! We loved it and hope to make it a regular vacation spot!

The Whole Family Loved This Vacation!!

My wife and I have just returned from celebrating our 15th anniversary in Mexico, and we had an amazing experience! We decided to take our 3 young children (9,8 and 5) along with us so they could experience another country and it's culture. We had never been to that side of Mexico before, so we were a little unsure of where to stay and what to do.
We feel so fortunate to have found this rental online. Gina (the owner) was wonderful on the phone, and answered any questions or concerns that I had. Her property manager Veronica is great, and available on speed dial from the phone there at the house if you need anything. We felt cared for, safe, and relaxed as our family actually got to spend time together enjoying each other and our surroundings.
The kids absolutely loved the pool and the fact that the beach was our backyard! The home is beautiful and the back patio was a true haven to rest and relax. It is such a cool setting with the kids jumping, splashing and laughing in the pool, with the beach and the Caribbean behind them. My little girls brought back almost more seashells than we have room for, and my son and I enjoyed playing coconut football in the sand. It was wonderful to see my wife get a chance to actually relax and just enjoy her family. The only thing that I was unhappy with was the fact that I wasn't able to enjoy it for a longer period of time. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Best vacation we ever had in the sun

It really has all been said by others who have been there before us....Beautiful views, the locals are friendly, kind people, calm waters, great pool and wonderful food! Very, very relaxing...exploring the area is a must if you're staying more then a week. It is close to Progreso where there are a lot of good restaurants on the Malecon. If you order a drink they will give you free tapas the whole time you sit there. Two things to suggest....if you want Internet bring a laptop or if you have an ipad there is free wifi at almost all the restaurants on the Malecon, Just ask for a passcode. The other is if you stay for more than a week and want to explore you really need to rent a car to get to the ruins or going into Merida. Over all we really had the best time ever.

Quiet Beachfront

If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation, this is it! This vacation home was clean with all the amenities you'll need and is in a great location. Progresso was a quick and easy 10 min drive with a lovely oceanfront where you will find some amazing restaurants!! It was quite easy to catch a bus into Merida which is a beautiful city to investigate. Everyone was very warm and friendly!! The property manager, Veronica, was very helpful as was Gina, the owner, in answering any questions that we had. Overall, a great vacation.

A beautiful, quiet, peacful and marvelous piece of Yucatan.

The property met our needs to a tee, being very clean, spacious, fully equipped for our cooking, close to the sites we wanted to visit as well as having 2 Bathrooms and a gorgeous pool.
The views over the pool, onto the beach and the ocean are spectacular in the morning as well as the evening. The property is very quiet and the bedrooms cool, so sleeping is not a problem. We were extremely comfortable and felt very secure in the house as well as the village.
We also appreciated very much the closeness to Progresso, a short 15 minute drive on a beautiful causeway, where we could buy anything we needed. It is very close to Mayan archeological sites and approximately 30 minute drice to Merida.
We definitely recommend the house to anyone who wants a clean, safe, well equipped place to stay while in the Progresso/Merida area.
It is suitable for couples as well as family with children.
A very special feature, is that the owners have retained the services of a local property manager who is extremely kind, knowledgeable, helpful and very accommodating and who can be there litteraly in minutes.

Upon arrival to chuburna the house was easy to find , the house was nice & clean had all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay everything needed near by & even a small store in walking distance ,Veronica the property manager was also very helpful & attentive to our needs . The pool was beautiful over seeing the ocean & just capturing the essence of a true vacation. My children couldn't get enough of the pool & playing in the sand. I would highly recommend this house for people with children or just as a romantic get away. I will deffinitly plan another trip around this vacation rental ..... overall it was wonderful !!!!!!
