Beautiful villa in a lovely quiet location

Stayed for a week in April 2011. Angela provided a warm friendly welcome from afar and couldn't do enough to help us. We were shown around the amazing villa with sea views by a welcoming local host. The rooms are very spacious, clean and modern with good quality furniture and lots of lovely finishing touches that made it feel a special place to stay. Useful welcome pack, lots of towels and a huge assortment of outside furniture by the pool, plus first class BBQ.
The Sugar Hill complex is relaxing and upmarket with excellent facilities. We used both of the communal pools, the excellent tennis courts and the restaurant. It's 1-2 miles to Holetown which has all the facilities you need and a decent beach at Folkstone Marine Park.
We would defintely recommend this property and hope to come back ourselves next year

Fantastic holiday

We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful villa. There was a warm welcome from Sandra the house keeper who throughout our stay was most friendly and helpful.
This villa was as described on the internet. All three bedrooms were larger than expected and tasfully furnished.The clubhouse at Sugar Hill can be well recommended.
The downhill walk to the main west coast road took us about 20min where there is a frequent bus service. After this we found it a great advantage to hire a car for the remainder of our stay.
Fairmont Beach Club gave us a great advantage to enjoy relaxing on a fabulous beach and to have water sports on hand. The staff here were friendly and extremely helpful.

Great Family Retreat

We had an amazing stay at Julie's villa in Barbados this February. My husband and I brought our young children (1 and 2.5 yr olds) along with Grandma. There was plenty of space, and there were toys and child appropriate gear (highchair, cots, blankets, etc) available. The pool is the largest of the private ones in the area, and is a short walk to the community centre (restaurant, gym), if you prefer a larger pool. A regular housekeeper was available 5/7 days, and they provided pick up and drop off from the airport. They even arranged for our car rental. The villa is easy to access and close to major shopping areas in Holetown.
Julie was amazing to talk too and very helpful when planning the trip. This was our first vacation thru a holiday rental by owner program and she was very reassuring, and supportive....she even called regularly when we were there to double check that we were having a great time. We definitely plan to return.

Super villa, great accommodation. House keeping services were excellent and unobtrussive. Julie-Ann (owner) was extremely helpful and very thoughtful. Taxi service to and from the airport was spot on, Banks beer, ice, tonic and lemons for the gin in the fridge on arrival!
Nice pool to keep out of the heat with good shade at certain times of the day.
We were made to feel very welcome and are looking forward to our return trip in 2012 which we have now booked.

They say location is everything and this villa has an excellent position with a fantastic panoramic view over the sea. Whether you are sitting by the pool or on the balconies overlooking the rear of the property, you cannot fault the vista. The villa itself is finished to a very nice standard and has all the facilities you require to look after yourself, if you choose to stay at home.
The club house is a short walk away, with a fantastic infinity pool and a gym, if you feel that way inclined. As a David Lloyd tennis centre there are good quality courts only a short walk away as well.
As a gated community it provides a safe environment. The team looking after the villa come in every few days to clean up and they do an excellent job of keeping the place tidy.
I would recommend this villa as an ideal place to relax and adopt the Barbados way of life.

Our Sugar Hill Experience .............

Let's begin with the villa, It is very spacious and is cleaned what seemed like every other day! Plenty of crockery etc and lots of fridge space, although no ice making machine, this would have been useful. Outside the property is quite small for sunbathing in the day, however less than 2 minutes walk is the fabulous pool at the clubhouse, a must!!
We walked to Holetown on our first day, which I would not recommend as it is in fact a 45 minute walk, not 15 minutes! Needless to say that did not happen again, just too hot! We used the taxi service, which is very prompt and lovely people. Can prove rather expensive if, like us, you like the beach, so would recommend hiring a car.
Would highly recommend the Lone Star and the Fish Pot - Fantastic with amazing food and views. Plenty of beach bars in Holetown and not expensive.
Went on the Turtle Trip to swim with the Turtles and we did!! It's amazing they just swim around you - £25 if you negotiate - lasts about 2 hours and, in our opinion, good value for money!
Ours was a trip with 4 adults and we had a fabulous time! In the evenings it is very quiet and relaxing sat outside the villa with lots of chat and drinks!!!
Would highly recommend this villa and Angela and Julie-Anne could not have been more helpful.

Wonderful Holiday.

Great location for a family. Ticks all the boxes with largest swimming pool in the complex great fun for the little ones. A well appointed villa with a great view. Extremely attentive owner who will look after your every need. 2km from Holetown which has a number of lovely restaurants.We found the beaches on the west coast rough over New Year prefered the south coast beaches so we were able to spend a lot of time at the villa which was great. The restaurant suggestions of the owner are all you need. You will need a car though in order to get around but everything is there for you to have a wonderful holiday.

Fantastic Family Holiday

My parents have holidayed in Barbados for a number of years and this year decided to rent a villa as opposed to stay in a hotel. Fortunately for us they decided on this one which also accommodated my young family.
As the villa has been adapted to accommodate disabled family members, it was perfect for kids as everything was at one level, with no steps to worry about.
The villa itself was spectacular and the photos didn't do it justice. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with 2 enormous fridge freezers which kept the beers and rum punch at the right temperature!
The pool is the largest of all of the villas on Tarmind Row and was a perfect size for us to cool off and play with the kids.
The 2 pools in the development we pretty much deserted and we had them to ourselves.
Sugar Hill is well located, just across the road from Royal Westmoreland in close proximity to Hole Town and the beaches of the West Coast.
We were provided with attentive service by the owner and her local representative and nothing was too much hassle.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the villa and very much hope to return in the near future.

Paradise Found!

Our family, myself, my husband and our three children ( a daughter of 16 and twin boys of 11) spent two fabulous weeks at this property at the end of August, earlier this year.
We had been completely stumped as to where to go and had spent a lot of time and research only to draw blank after blank. Three weeks before we were due to depart we had still not booked anything! We finally decided on Barbados and we are very glad that we did.
Angela and Julie-Ann (the owners) were incredibly helpful right from our initial conversation, until after we had returned home. It seemed nothing was too much trouble for them and the welcome pack that they provided was second to none. Thank you both so much.
We initially decided on this property for two reasons. Firstly the quiet location and secondly the fact that the private pool is larger than the splash pools that are standard in these type of villas. We were certainly not disappointed.
The villa itself is a dream. It is spacious, very clean and very well equipped. The availability of WiFi was a god send, as anyone with teenagers can appreciate.
I would recommend hiring a car as there are so many wonderful places to visit and sights to see.
There are many good restaurants in Holetown, (we particularly liked Nishi and The tides) as well as the restaurant “Sassafras” within the Sugar Hill club house, which we would thoroughly recommend.
Before we went we were a bit concerned about the weather, but we need not have worried. I think we saw rain on 2 or maybe 3 out of the 14 days, but these showers were short and sharp and to be honest didn't stop us doing anything.
My husband and the two boys enjoyed an early morning deep sea fishing trip (we were eating the tuna they caught for days afterwards) and as a family we particularly enjoyed the Calabaza sailing cruise, where we swam with turtles, snorkelled over wrecks and enjoyed a wonderful Bajan lunch.
As you have probably gathered, I could carry on extolling the virtues of this holiday and in particular this villa, but I will sum up by saying that I would thoroughly recommend this property to anybody and will have no hesitation in returning again and again.

Wonderful Caribbean Holiday

Recently returned from our first family holiday in the Caribbean. First thing to say is that Barbados is a fantastic destination and fulfilled all our expectations, second thing is that being able to stay in such a nice villa with such helpful owners made this a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing vacation. The villa is situated right in the heart of St James close to Holetown, which has plenty of restaurants and shops. The villa is very well equipped with everything you could possibly want, spacious and clean (it also has WiFi if like my daughters you find it impossible to be away from Facebook for more than 24 hours!). We also made good use of the beach club and the other amenities on site (gym and big pool - which the kids loved).
Angela was extremely helpful throughout, helping to book a hire car (which is essential if you are to enjoy the island to the full), making restaurant recommendations and reservations, providing a welcome pack with food and drink and generally making sure we had everything we needed.
It was tough to leave but we hope to return soon.
