For less than the price of a single hotel room in the nearby resorts of Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani, and Waikoloa Beach, you and your significant other (or small family of up to 4) can spread out in 500 square feet of luxury plus a spacious private lanai/patio with outdoor dining for 4.

Part of a sprawling, custom-built ranch estate covering 3 acres, your Hawaii home away from home comprises 500 square feet of luxury, including a full working kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living, entertainment, and office areas, laundry room, and spacious private lanai with outdoor dining for 4 and gas BBQ.

Be part of the family with the owners, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 2 horses, or take advantage of the privacy of your personal apartment. Your choice. The owners and designers of this modern ranch estate, built in 2008, live fulltime on the island in the main house. Also on the property are a 2-bedroom apartment overlooking the sea and an oceanview studio.

This 1-bedroom ohana ('guest home') features a romantic 4-poster queen bed in the bedroom, which also has a TV and DVD. Pack N Play is available upon request for $10/night.

The living and entertainment area boasts a cushy couch, side chairs, and TV/stereo center with HDTV with DVD/Blu-Ray and CD player. The dining table seats 2, and the large bathroom with marble vanity and shower is perfect for groups of up to 2 people.

Available by the night, week, or month, this 1-bedroom apartment is one of the best deals on the Big Island. You are within 15 minutes of Hawi and Waimea, as well as the three beach resorts, making this the perfect location. Great Stay!

We stayed on the property for 4 nights. It was very clean and well-maintained. The owners were very helpful and even gave us a tour of their lovely home. We snorkled every morning at Spencer's Beach and we recommend eating lobster at the Plantation Grill --- Wednesday Night Special. We also ate at the Red Water Cafe in Kamuela and the steak was great. We love to visit Kona and recommend another restaurant South of Kona on Alii Drive --- Sam Choy's. Obviously we had a great time and recommend this property to everyone. We will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed over Labor Day weekend and were very extremely happy with the accommodations at the Ohana. We were very comfortable and were able to have a lot of privacy as well. The owners were very friendly and helpful with the many questions we had regarding the Kohala Ranch lifestyle and I loved the decorations. The bed was comfortable and the shower, a dream (great water pressure). The weather is perfect up at that elevation and the amenities in the rental were perfect for a couple. Thank you for the hospitality and we will definitely return soon. Say Hi to the horses and your two dogs for me! We met great people at the ranch and are hoping to continue to visit this beautiful part of the island frequently.

Just stayed at Kohala Ranch! We had the 1 bedroom. It was lovely. We had all the ammenities that we needed and then some! The cottage is beautiful, comfortable and clean. Got to see whales just driving home and visited gorgeous beaches near by. The owners are very hospitable, giving us great direction and activity ideas. I reccomend this destination to everyone who wants a peaceful stay at a beautiful, private place.
