The pictures do not do it justice, it truly is paradise found. We spent two fantastic weeks here over this past holiday season and hated to leave. Every night the sunsets competed for which was the most magnificent. The full service kitchen and outdoor grill were perfect. The layout of the Villa with two master suites worked even for our three grown children to easily share the 2 double bed master. Our master was magnificent with a wall of glass and a corner seamless window that takes your breath away. The huge U shaped couch enabled all five of us to sprawl out in comfort at the end of the day. The free wireless enabled our son to work from Hawaii as if he was at his Chicago office. Every room had exquisite mountain or ocean views. The comfortable lounge chairs on the private and expansive lanai were heavenly. The small lanai pool was pretty but a little too cold for use this time of year. The resort facilities were first class with full service beach help with umbrellas, cabanas and chairs at the Mauna Kea's beautiful beach. The full service bar and restaurant beach side was enjoyable. Manta Restaurant was the best on property, maybe on island. We could walk to the beach or valet park the car at the front door to the hotel without charge which was beneficial. The best advice the owner gave me when booking the Villa was to contact Penny Vesel the owner of GRASS SKIRT CONCIERGE a private concierge service on the Big Island. Penny was AMAZING and took the stress out of pre-trip planning. She interviewed me ahead of our trip and discussed what activities our family enjoyed and booked everything for us from; where to eat Merrimen's, Seafood Bar and Manta favorites, dive (Kohala Divers), private catamaran MAKANI KAI II out of Kawaihae Harbor complete w/grilled dinner - wild dolphin pod swim and humpback whale sightings, helicopter tour, golf rounds and club rental, Hawi - Big Island Zipline, Mariott Luau, and in-villa massages. She even did grocery shopping ahead of our arrival from my list which was priceless. This truly was the best trip ever! Aloha!!
