Casa Fila Costena: This jewel-box of a “Casa” is nestled between the majestic peaks of the Fila Costena, the coastal mountain range of Southwest Pacific Costa Rica, and the Pacific Ocean. Perched on a private ridge with an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean, the estuary of the Rio Terraba, and Isla Ballena; your front yard is the rainforest valley of Tres Rios complete with a 90 metre waterfall which tumbles into the cooling waters of the river. Hiking, rappelling and canyoneering await at your doorstep.Self guided trails have been cut through the primary rainforest, just minutes from the house.
Your morning wakeup includes the echoing call of the Howler Monkey troops, the chirp of the Toucan, and the chortle of the Laughing Falcon White faced monkeys crash through the trees in the valley below.

Activity and Entertainment: The Ojochal/Uvita area of Costa Rica is perpetually green even in the “dry” season. Activities in this area are endless. In the valley, within walking distance of the house there are numerous trails and opportunities to hike in primary rainforest. It is never hard to find your own private stream or pool in the numerous rivers that cascade down from the mountain peaks. This area is well known for its numerous pristine beaches, and within a short drive there is surfing in Dominical, scuba diving or snorkeling at Isla Ballena or Cano Island, zip-lining or bird watching at Hacienda Baru, a Mangrove river trip on the Sierpe, river kayaking on the Rio Terraba. You are of course on the doorstep of Corcovado National Park - one of the most biodiverse park preserves in the world. A day trip to Boruca - home of the Boruca mask carvers, horse back riding, deep sea fishing, golfing, whitewater rafting if you are looking for more adrenalin packing, are just some of the activities you might try.
