Five acres of mature west coast forest including access to 260 feet of low bank waterfront commanding a sunny south facing point with a private beach. Seals and otters frolic among the islets and eagles perch in the cedars and ancient firs.

DO YOU WANT INCREDIBLE VIEWS?

Perched on the edge of a moss and lichen covered bluff in the open arbutus and fir canopy, this 1220 sq ft glazed aerie offers intimate views of the surrounding forest as well as the rugged coast.(sleeps 2-5)

Short paths, benches and seating areas along the shoreline offer different perspectives from which to view the landscape and its native west coast flora and fauna.

THE AERIE

A graceful butterfly roofline and sweeping expanses of glass blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces in this new modern treehouse which reflects a contemporary twist on traditional typologies, especially corrugated metal boat sheds and cedar clad cottages.

A 10 ft. granite island anchors a modern kitchen and serves as a gathering spot in the open living area.

The master bedroom and ensuite enjoy private forest views. A queen sized bed and rainshower refresh.

Cleverly designed niches offer sitting and sleeping areas for extra guests.

An additional bathroom with a comfortable deep tub adds convenience for families.

Large deck wraps around the south corner for beautiful ocean views and al fresco dining. Private patio to the rear includes a hot tub and private lounging area.

THE PROPERTY

The property includes the Aerie and the Pointhouse, our new B&B, finally complete and ready to welcome guests who prefer to be directly on the water. Aerie guests can enjoy their own private oasis as well as the environs of the Pointhouse.

Property amenities include access to a private beach where you can beachcomb, kayak, boat or swim (new seasonal dock in the works), large pavilion with BBQ area, gardens, and a massage studio .

THE POINTHOUSE B&B

Two amazing staterooms evoke a luxury small cruise ship feel with spa style bathrooms as well as tub/sitting rooms which enjoy the ocean views. Gas fireplaces, king sized beds, luxury linens, private decks, fridge and coffee makers, 42' smart TVs, robes and spa toiletries complete the appointments in each room.

Beautiful custom walnut cabinetry throughout reinforces the nautical feel with lots of ship shape storeage especially in the kitchen which makes the property suitable for catering small weddings or other special events.

Generous dining and lounging space on both levels offer lots of choices for gathering or seclusion. The lower living room and lounge forms the prow of the ship and opens to a large oceanfront deck and associated patios great for outdoor lounging and dining.

About The Owner

We bought the property in Dec 2005 as our future retirement home while we were still residing and working in Dawson Creek, BC. It was a successful vacation rental till Feb 2010 when we began a complete reconstruction of the main house and built a new guesthouse on the bluff above.

We made the move to the Sunshine Coast full time in January 2011 living first in the Aerie guesthouse and finally the expanded and renovated Pointhouse Jun 2012.

With the opening of a new B&B and a busy schedule of physician locums, retirement is still a ways off. Fortunately, life on the coast is a more relaxed pace.

Why The Owner chose Halfmoon Bay

The location is spectacular - You have to visit to appreciate.

Sargeant Bay Provincial Park is a little known jewel. A secluded log strewn halfmoon shingle beach with sand at low tide backed by a magnificent bird sanctuary and lovely hiking and mountain bike paths.

Gibsons, Sechelt, Pender Harbor and points in between offer innumerable opportunities for sightseeing, cultural and sporting activities and this property is located centrally to it all.

This estate offers one of the most luxurious, private and peaceful locations on all the Coast.

THE PROPERTY IS ACTUALLY SITUATED ON THE MORE PRIVATE AND SUNNY EAST SIDE OF SARGEANT BAY DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM WHERE IT IS SHOWN ON THE GOOGLE MAP ABOVE. UNFORTUNATELY, AS YET, WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET GOOGLE MAPS TO CHANGE THIS.

Fabulous Family Get Away!

Our family needed some R&R and we found the peace and serenity we were looking for in this quiet, secluded paradise with all the modern amenities. Our teenage girls loved exploring the very rocky shoreline and local trails. We enjoyed reading and napping on the sun filled deck with our dog. It wouldn't be a family vacation without him. Sechelt was a short drive to play tennis and shop and walk. Local restaurants and cafes were amazing. Kitchen was well equipped to cook including a bbq on the sun-filled deck. This home is beautiful but the property is in the hills and its a steep hike to the rocky shoreline. The pictures simply don't do this property justice. We would definitely recommend this fabulous retreat if you are looking for privacy and quiet. The weather was fantastic the entire week. We had a couple of little issues that came up but Heather and Bob were very quick to respond and resolve them. The roadway in is a tight squeeze and rough ride, especially in a large SUV. Be VERY careful making the left off of Redroofs Road. Also parking requires a patient and skilled driver but it is well worth it. Thanks for a fantastic week, we will definitely return!

An opportunity to escape two cities with two couples allowed us all the chance to unwind and truly getaway. This place has everything you need from bbq to outdoor private hottub to rain shower overlooking the endless high trees and cliffside views. We lucked out with incredible weather and enjoyed lazing on patio chairs and hiking along the beach. Lots to do but unfortunately too little time...not a problem, we will return!

Modern Private Retreat

What a wonderful modern retreat. The details and decor compliment the modern design of the home and the floor to ceiling windows made it feel like we were living in the forest. A fully equipped kitchen and open concept along with woodburning fireplace made us want to move right in. With the ocean just steps away and within view of the home,and a fabulous hot tub, our only regret is that we only stayed 2 nights!

One of the best treasures on the coast

This has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed ! The architecture of this house to tally blew me away . The ocean was only steps away from the house and the provincial park was a mere 5 min walk. We loved the huge glass windows bringing the outside in . Just amazing. You won't regret it I promise. We will be coming back for sure.
