Looking forward to a repeat visit.
I chose this studio because it had the largest number of positive reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. In person, it was exactly as it was portrayed in the description, pictures, and reviews. It was clean, and well appointed as far as kitchen necessities. Owner Tara was very quick to answer all my questions before, during, and after our stay.
One of the criteria I had for a studio in New Orleans was ease of any stairs in the building. As I saw pictures of other places with 19th century steep and narrow stairs, I couldn't imagine getting up them at the end of a day of walking. I am an older traveler, with knee replacements and back issues, so my comfort is important in my choice. This studio has about 5 regular steps from the street into the building. Inside there are no stairs, and into the courtyard patio there are also about 5, and all easy to negotiate. With regards to my back, the bed was fantastic, not too hard or too soft, nor too high to get in and out of.
Frenchmen Street was about 4 blocks away and even tho we didn't arrive till nearly 7pm, we were over there the first night. Don't believe the people who say they wouldn't walk there in the dark. We saw nothing scary, nor did we even have any panhandlers approach us. This studio is perfect for enjoying this area of New Orleans. We visited three different clubs there and there were many more to explore. We had good meals at Snug Harbor, but their jazz was in a separate part of the club, and you had to pay a cover, and get in at the beginning of a set. We also had a good meal at Maison, with good live Jazz included. But Three Muses really was stellar with their small plates, and wide variety of yummy goodies to meet the needs of any varied tastes.
We also appreciated that the location is on the quiet end of Bourbon Street, and we spent some very peaceful afternoons on the patio, drinking wine and pouring over our plans for the next day. We did have a rental car, and didn't always take it to the lot (an easy 5 blocks away), as the 2 hr parking limit on the street goes from 7am to 7pm. There were times when we found a spot nearby at 5pm, and left the car near us to go out to dinner latter that evening, without getting ticketed or towed.
I can't imagine a better overall accommodation when you consider comfort, location, and price.
