We offer a charming historic country house on 36 acres of wooded land located in historic Clarke County, Virginia. Come enjoy Historic Clarke County! We are located about an hour and a half west of Washington, DC, 20 minutes west of Middleburg, VA and 20 minutes east of Winchester, VA.

Blue Hill is perfect for family reunions, weddings, weekend getaways, retreats and much more.

Amenities include a large wrap around porch, a deck with a hot tub, a grill and hiking trails plus we are minutes from the famous Locke Country Store, Burwell-Morgan Historic Mill and the Shenandoah River.

The house has been completely renovated (with central air/heat). Upstairs has 2 Large master bedrooms with in-suite bathrooms plus three more bedrooms & another full bathroom. The kitchen has granite counter-tops and is fully equipped with a state of the art coffee machine.

The dining room seats up to ten people. The living room is large with comfortable seating and a flat screen TV including a DVD & Wii.

The perfect getaway for everyone & Pet friendly!: Travel from the city - only about one hour from the metro area - take a step back in time & enjoy the stately pace of a traditional Virginia country home with gardens and majestic oak trees - you will feel that you are in a different time and place!

The Blue Ridge Mountains separate Clarke County from Loudoun County & the Shenandoah River follows along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Clarke County.

We are your base to explore Clarke County and Frederick County & all it has to offer - historic sites, wineries, golfing, monastery, hiking, antique shops, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Locke Country Store, Watermelon Park, Arboretum of Virginia or just explore the picturesque country roads with views of farms & mountains or take a drive down scenic Skyline Drive.

Plan a day trip to Shenandoah Nat'l Park, Harper's Ferry, Front Royal, Shepherdstown, WV or Charles Town WV.

Or just relax, read a book and sit in the hot tub.

Blue Hill is a working farm. The fields are being farmed by farmer Dan and Alexandra.

We are organic - no pesticides are used in the fields or the gardens.

Pet-friendly: We are pet-friendly.

The Blue Hill mascots -- Gus & Cleo belong to Dan and Alexandra and lives in the cottage next to the main house. The guest cottage is a separate house from the main house.

We choose Blue Hill because we feel in love with the house and the beautiful country setting - you can see the mountains and we are surrounded by 36 acres - 5 acres of fields and the rest is wooded and we are close to the Shenandoah. Blue Hill also offers us the opportunity to get away from the city but is close enough to DC that the the drive is relaxing and if we want to do something there are tons of options - so we can just relax and do nothing or we can plan a weekend of fun things to do!

Thanks so much for the lovely weekend. Your home exceeded all of our expectations. I could have lived on the front porch alone. The house is exquisite, comfortable and interesting in each and every nook and cranny! Can't wait to return and explore the area further. Very peaceful and relaxing. We came to celebrate the anniversary of our wonderful parents. For 40 years they have been incredible role models of God's intent for marriage and commitment and have raised four amazing children. Now all married and some with kids of their own (and more on the way). We all chipped in to rent this house to be together for a long weekend with Mom & Dad. We throughly enjoyed the spacious house & accomodations and the beautiful scenary of the Shenandoah Valley The hot tub was relaxing & we had some fun times in the dining roomm & living room eating meals & playing games together. We appreciated all the little unique things of this house as well as the beautiful updates that have been made to it. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Hello Carla,

I am one of the friends who stayed with Carol and Peter. I know Carol shared our finds and pleasures of the Millwood area. I just wanted to reinforce all that by telling you how welcoming and comfortable the house is. I hope we will have another chance soon to sneak away to the area. I joined the Delaplane Cellars Wine Club. They assure me that there will be invitations to cooking classes and special tastings etc.; another good reason to escape to the area.

Our group had a great time at the house! Neat little town and very comfortable accommodations. The hot tub was a nice luxury in the evenings and we enjoyed the large dining room table for group meals.

We had another AWESOME weekend at your lovely Blue Hill Home!! This time, we took our two miniature long-haired dachshunds (Kona and Hilo) and our friends brought their 2 mini schnauzers (Clara and Fritz). We had a lovely weather weekend and spent most of our time outdoors! We took many walks to the Locke store, spent time in the beautiful Millwood park, visiting the farm animals across the street and playing in the yard! So perfect for our little guys!! We also (without the little pups) visited 5 wineries and toured Middleburg. The house was perfectly perfect for our accommodations. We cooked incredible meals and ate in the gorgeous dining room. Such a treat to spend time there! Many thanks for opening your lovely estate up to us again. We will be back soon...if you will have us!!!
