Why The Owner chose Palm Springs
My Partner and I have been coming to Palm Springs for years to unwind from our hectic jobs in the city. We bought our home in 2007 with the idea that we would visit often, dine out and enjoy the nightlife.
However, our pattern is more typically that we settle in, shop for groceries and spend most of our time on the property enjoying all that the desert has to offer.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
We were looking for a mid-century Alexander home and found the Racquet Club Estates area met our expectations completely. The views of the San Jacinto and San Gorgonio mountains are exceptional in the north end of Palm Springs. We also have a passion for Mid-Century design which is reflected throughout the authentic interior and exterior appointments. A study of the past with the convenience of the future!

Well maintained, beautiful mid-century modern home with every amenity

We stayed for almost two weeks. Clean. Pictures were accurate - a beautiful home. Thank you to Todd for taking the time to check us in and show us how to work the great audio visual system throughout the house. We are cyclists. The separate locked garage was great for storing our bikes safely. The house is located near some great hills and highway rides - as this was our first visit to Palm Springs, we were amazed at the easy riding. Riding through the city is not a problem with wide roads and low traffic. The house itself was so comfortable with two boys 9 and 11. The pool and the hot tub were wonderful amenities. Cannot believe how well stocked the kitchen is - enough plates and cutlery to entertain (had another family over for a BBQ one afternoon). Blender. Pizza stone. It was stocked as well as my house! Clearly, huge pride of ownership. This house is lovely down to the authentic Herman Miller glass amoeba table that I covet. Regarding airport noise per the other review, we noticed the odd airplane overhead maybe once every other day at the most? It was non issue for us.
We drove into LA a few times to watch some sporting events, and also went to Six Flags (everything is a two hour drive). Explored Palm Springs and shopped at the outlet mall. Tried a number of the area restaurants based on Todd's recommendations, and also Yelp was pretty good. A very laid back enjoyable vacation for this family!
The transaction itself was very efficient - charges and payment terms were very clear to us. Todd could have held our safety deposit for two weeks as per the contract. He refunded it within two business days of our departure. An excellent choice and would recommend to friends, and would rent again if returning to the area.

The Pefect Palm Springs Retreat

We just enjoyed a great stay at Desert Willow. It was everything we wished for and more. My wife was floating in the pool before I had finished unpacking. We spent our days just floating about and taking advantage of the hot tub. The yard is well maintained and totally private and wonderful.
Fans of mid-century modern will love the authentic vibe and furnishings and everyone will enjoy the wonderful sound system, large screen tv, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds and baths.
The house manager Todd was professional, down-to-earth, easy to relate to and offered suggestions of things to do, as well as an eclectic list of restaurant recommendations. We tried two of them and were more than satisfied.
We highly recommend this place. The house is not only true to its description but just as importantly the management is top notch. Check-in and check-out were simple and went seamlessly. You can tell that the owners care about the property and it shows great pride of ownership. Wish we could have stayed longer and plan to stay there on our next visit to Palm Springs.

Tennis weekend in Palm Springs

Four of my friends and I were in the area for the BNP Paribas Open and thought it would be fun to rent a house instead of staying at a hotel. It was a great decision. Todd was very responsive to questions prior to our arrival. We arrived a little early and he was already there getting things ready. He gave us a tour and showed us how things worked. The house is clean, well-maintained, and just as described. There were nice touches such as toiletries, towels, and bicycles which we had not expected. We enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard and the use of the kitchen even though we were at the tournament for most of the weekend. Check-out was super easy. Also, my friend left a shoe underneath one of the beds and Todd was nice enough to look for it and mail it back to her. I would definitely consider staying at this lovely home should I return to Palm Springs again.

Great location, fantastic place to stay!

My sisters and I met in PS for a weekend getaway and had a great time at this rental! It was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. All of the bedrooms were extremely comfortable with plenty of room and it was great to have a fully stocked kitchen. The house has a gorgeous, private backyard that we thoroughly enjoyed!
The location of the house puts you within 10 minutes of almost anything you would want to do. Safe quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Palm Springs!

Beautifully decorated, clean and quiet

We had a great time in Palm Springs and the house is very true to it's description and the photos are very accurate. It is in a relatively quiet neighborhood but there is significant noise from airport traffic. The location is easily accessible and it was very clean and well-maintained overall. Todd was very timely in helping us with even the smallest concern. The linens are great quality and the beds are wonderful. The pool was warm (using the heater as is necessary in December) and our kids really enjoyed themselves. Also, they have a great music system in place.
There was a recurrent yet slight propane-like smell in the kitchen , however - not dangerous and likely coming from outside, perhaps the heater for the pool - but it was bothersome. Hopefully, they will get this repaired soon.
Also, the stove was challenging to use and slow to heat. For a "gourmet kitchen" the cooking pots and pans, as well as the silverware and cooking knives are of poor quality - this is clearly something the owners could remedy easily and suspect they will do so as they seem devoted to making their renters stay enjoyable and comfortable.

Perhaps there were more flights than usual over the holiday or the weather forced a change in the normal traffic patterns.

If you are used to cooking with gas, as we are, transitioning to a Miele electric cooktop requires a bit more patience. At your suggestion, we have replaced the silverware and cooking knives. We pride ourselves on having the best kitchen and every possible cooking gadget our guests could possibly need.

AMAZING! Great for a weekend with friends!

This house is amazing! I was here for a weekend with college friends and it was perfect for six people. There are a couple of really amazing things to point out about this place:
1) The decoration is flawless and high quality. Several pieces of furniture are originals and the way they are set in the home really sets a relaxing fun vibe.
2) The kitchen is FULLY stocked. We cooked most meals and it was actually a joy because this kitchen has every type of utensil, appliance and dish you will ever need. The oven is tough to work with and caused some frustration - but nothing to be down about. You always have the grill.
3) The pool is amazing. Not only is it deep enough to dive into, but it is large and comes with several floaties. There are also great umbrellas that are easy to use and very high quality.
4) The speaker system was awesome. We had one thing playing in the house (party mix) and a chill vibe playing on the outdoor speakers. The system is advanced and easy to use.
5) The yard is perfect for a weekend away. It's big enough to play croquet, secluded and the decor is great. There is also a great fire pit that was great for the evening.
6) Bedrooms are well appointed and beds are very comfortable.
Overall, this place will be hosting my friends and I again... we had a great weekend and can't wait to come back for more!

Perfect Romantic Getaway

My husband and I spent a weekend at Desert Willow and it was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The house was exactly as Todd described and the backyard was perfect for lounging (clothing optional!). Both Tom and Todd were helpful, friendly, and made our first experience renting a vacation house a delight! We visit Palm Springs at least once or twice a year and normally stay in a hotel, but because it was our anniversary and we did not have our little one, we wanted something more private. I loved everything about this house - the decor, the floor plan, the audio system, fully-equipped kitchen, the croquet set, and the super comfortable mattress. Needless to say, I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Perfect place for a get-away weekend!

I had a fabulous birthday weekend at this house with my 3 best friends. We were delighted to see that the house looks just like it does in the pictures and we oohed and aahed over pretty much everything. Dreamy beds, well supplied kitchen, cool mid-century decor, outside speakers/misters, and nice chaise lounges with big umbrellas. We basically spent our time moving between the pool, the chaise lounges and the kitchen. :)
Both Thomas and Todd were very responsive to any questions which I definitely appreciated. My girlfriends and I are already talking about making this an annual get away destination!

LOVE this place!

My friends and I all had a wonderful time staying at this house for our "Palm Springs Boys Get-Away Weekend!" The beds were insanely comfortable, the house was decorated very well and we LOVED having outdoor speakers so we could enjoy music while lounging poolside. The backyard is PERFECT for those of us who like total privacy and enjoy the skinny-dipping. (HaHa) Also, the outdoor misters attached to the back of the house provide a nice cooling effect during those HOT Palm Springs summer days!
We'll definitely stay at this house again and look forward to the next visit.

My friends and I had a wonderful and relaxing time at this unique and modern home. The house was perfect in every way.. the bedrooms were comfy and cozy, the living room and kitchen were devine and the pool outside was an oasis! I'd recommend this lovely home to anyone wanting to enjoy some R&R! We also loved and enjoyed sitting around the firepit at night! Thanks for the memories! We hope to come back soon!
