Photos and Description of the Biloxi vacation house rental
House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

This is a retro 50's bungalo with 2 bedrooms[now with a king bed and twin with trundle] and 2 full bathrooms, located of the beach in Biloxi,Mississippi. My husband and I grew up in New Orleans,La. and spend alot of time on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We always wanted to live on the coast. This home was purchased after Katrina in 2006. Luckily ,there was no flooding mainly due to the fact it is located in the highest land point in Biloxi. Our street didn't even loose the two houses on Hwy 90 facing the gulf.

This house was our full time home for two years. We have moved into a larger home nearby with the thought that we will someday return to our small peach cottage.

The house has two bedrooms, one contains a queen size Murphy's bed. Meaning you have to pull the bed down from the wall at night. This doesn't require alot of effort and does contain a regular mattress. This bedroom has a 19'' tv/dvd combonation. The other bedroom contains two twin beds. An air mattress could be provided if additional sleeping for little ones is needed.

The home is one story, with doorways wide enough for a wheelchair.Built in the 50's ,the retro flair remains. Both bathroons contain the larger square shallow tubs from the 50's. In hot retro colors too. There is a full galley kitchen with a washer and dryer, dishwasher and a new high end Italian gas/electric range. All floors are wood or tile.

The backyard is fully fenced and there is a large covered back porch. A small gas grill is provided. The backyard and front yard have a large oak tree providing great afternoon shade. There is a single car driveway leading to a single car carport.

The location of this property is one of it's greatest features. No matter what time of the year you stay here, you will always be close to what is going on in Biloxi. No fighting traffic for Mardi Gras,4th of July, watching Crusin the Coast, even gaming at the famous Beau Rivage is only a short walk away.Local grocery store is close by along with shopping and a movie theater.Afternoon and morning walks on the beach are only a thought away.

Keywords: Retro 50's vintage flare with modern amenities. One story house 1200 square feet ,1/2 block off Biloxi's beach. Fantastic location, witihin easy walking distance to many of Biloxi's highlights.

About Owner/Property Manager

Getting close to retirement,we purchased this house to be our retirement home.We hope to provide you with a pleasent home away from home feeling and will be happy to try to assist with any special needs you have.We live closeby, still working as a nurse and business owner.

We love being near the gulf. Just looking at the beach and water makes life seem carefree even when it's not.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 2006
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Biloxi

We grew up visiting the coast and always wanted to move here. The time came that we could buy property locally and knew it had to be close to the beach. We wanted an area near downtown Biloxi with a good neighborhood feel. Only a house would do, condos just don't feel like home and home is what we wanted. We lived full time for two years in this house and plan to someday return to full time residance there again.

What makes this house unique

We love the area.My husband takes morning walks daily on the beach. I like to take my four year old grandaughter to the beach when the tide is out to find shells, hermit crabs, check out what the ocean has washed a shore and build sand castles at dusk. We also enjoy walking out on the fishing pier to check out the days catch. This has been a great spot to watch the spring Blessing of the Fleet, December's Christmas Boat Parade and 4th of July beach fireworks.

We take in the free family movie nights on Biloxi Town Green in the summer and fall and always enjoy the free October historic Biloxi Cemetary tour.Local arts and craft festivals abound and always offer unique finds and great food.Biloxi Farmer's Market on Tuesdays and Thursdays offer the best fresh produce and plants to be found.

Gaming, night life and first class entertainers are here at the casinos, along with buffetts that you won't believe. These buffetts offer special days of senior discounts which helps when trying to budget.

This property has a fantastic location. Anything you can want to do in the area is only minutes away. The Lynn Meadows Childrens Discovery Center is straight down hwy 90 about 8 miles. They have one Friday afternoon a month that is free. Of course the adult playground, the casinos are plentyful and fun to discover each ones unique features. The Beau Rivage's Christmas decoratoins are a wonder for all ages. This is a great place for those Christmas card photos.Santa has been on hand for free photos the last two years. The IP Casino does alot of benifit projects for the community and I love when they have paint and pal classes. You finiish a painting in one evening and I promise it will look good. There is the Mary C. Center in Ocean springs that offers all types of different arts and crafts classes. In December each local town has Christmas open Houses on Sunday afternoon and it's a real treat to see some unique homes and get won derful ideas on Christmas decorating.

We enjoyed our trip to Biloxi and this house provided a short walk to the beach, easy drives to the main destinations in Biloxi (5 min or less) and had great access to other destinations on the Mississipi coast. The house was well maintained, clean, and had plenty of room, especially with a spacious master. My partially disabled Father-In-Law was comfortable in the guest room and was able to get around the house comfortably. Our dogs enjoyed the backyard and the walks through a quiet neighborhood.

The decor is mid-century as depicted in the photos of the property. The original tile and fixtures in the bathrooms are charming. There are train tracks a few blocks from the house and trains pass through several times during the day/night. We didn't find this a problem and it did not cause my wife problems sleeping even though she is a light sleeper.

The owners were very nice and helpful in recommendations around town. Overall, we would recomend this property for anyone looking to enjoy the Mississippi coast while avoiding the usual hotel/casino options.

The description of the house was accurate. The photos provided accurately relfect the rental's appearance and amenities. It was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and gave us a very nice tour of the house after our arrival. I would recommend this property to our friends and relatives. If we ever make it back to Biloxi, I would definitely look into going back to the house. The beach is the reason why we chose to go to Biloxi; however, during our stay, it rained the entire time, so we weren't able to enjoy it. We went to the outlet stores in Gulfport and went sightseeing. We saw the art work of the local artist who carved out the trees that were destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.

Our Enjoyable Stay

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Vintage Beach Bungalo in Biloxi, Mississippi. When we first arrived, we were thrilled with the colorful, cheerful decor. The wood floors were gorgeous, and the bungalow was more spacious than we had imagined. It was clean and well maintianed. My family of five and the dog had plenty of space and very comfortable living arrangements. Our teens really enjoyed the one block walk to the beach. Not only was it the beach, but it was the high activity center of the beach that was only a block away from the bungalow. My husband and I were within walking distance of the casinos and many tourist attractions. The modern conveniences afforded us within the bungalow included a magnificent outside grill, a fantastic kitchen, and washer and dryer. The owner was very personable and accommodating. Our only regret was that our stay was too short, but we certainly plan to return soon. I highly recommend this property if you are visiting Biloxi.

I was very impressed with everything about the bungalo including the location. The pictures do not do justice to this house. Everything is clean and well maintained. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. I look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Upon arrival owner was readily available to deliver keys and give tour of property. Owner was also very knowledgeable of the area and its tourist attractions. The location was centrally located between the beach, casinos and shopping. The home was very clean and comfortable and warmly decorated at a great value. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for convenience to the Biloxi sights and beaches. After returning home I was very impressed with how fast the deposit was returned. I would also like to thank the owners for their high ethics in returning family jewelry my daughter had accidently left behind. If and when we return to Biloxi area we will definately check on the availability of this property first. Thanks Jan and Jerry for a great time!!!!

House is right down from beach, welcome center and casinos. I walked to the beach a few times and went jet skiing. Quiet neighborhood. Grocery store around the corner. Owners were nice and brought us an air mattress since we had 5 people. House looks exactly like it does on the pictures. Very clean. Loved the gas grill. It helped us save money by not going out to eat every night. Over all it was a good vacation for my first time in Biloxi. Would stay again.

this was the perfect place for our family at the beach!

we stayed at this sweet beach bungalow for a little over a week and it was the perfect place for our family! it was my husband and i, our 5 year old, our 16 month old and our 2 labradors. we had a blast. the house itself is immaculate and cute as can be with all of the vintage charm of the 50's but up to date for 2012. both of the bathrooms have HUGE tub/showers and my 5 year old was SO excited that "her" bathroom had a big pink tub and "her" room had a vanity. the front yard is adorable and the street is so quiet that we spent many hours sitting on the front porch letting the kids and dogs play in the grass. the walk to the beach was not bad at all and i did it by myself with the 2 kids a few times with the double stroller and i found it was easier to take the stroller than to drive. :) the owners were super friendly, helpful and VERY easy to do business with! i would certainly recommend this adorable cottage to you and your family if you are visiting biloxi. also, the beach was fabulous and most of the times we had it almost to ourselves! the waves were calm and you could walk forever before it got too deep. we could not have been more pleased with our place to stay! thanks so much jan, we really appreciate it. oh, and my little girl is still beaming over her hula girl sheets too. :)

Owner's Response: I'm so so very happy you and your family had a good vacation. I'm delighted that your sweet daughter liked the hula girl sheets. I was a little worried about two dogs coming to stay but once again I say thank you for taking care of our house. I couldn't tell that more then one person had stayed much less a family with 2 dogs. Please come back!!

My boyfriend and I decided to book a last-minute vacation and the family was very hospitable to our request... "can we come tomorrow?" :) Great house, love the vintage look! Nice yard with a doggie door for my beagle and a relaxing porch area for us. The beach is close enough to walk to and there are restaurants down the road. Definitely recommend it and thank the family for accommodating us.

My boy Baron and I enjoyed this house so much during the Pelican Cluster Dog Show last weekend. The house was so clean and spacious. Loved the hardwood and tile floors. The yard and back porch were awesome. It is surrounded by a very nice privacy fence. We enjoyed every morning on the porch drinking coffee and playing ball. It's an easy walk to the beach from the house, and we even enjoyed a lovely walk in the live oak shaded historical cemetery nearby. Jan and Jerry were great hosts with Jan even coming to the dog show to check us out! We will definitely stay in this cottage again!

PS Don't miss taking your dog to Shaggy's and enjoying drinks and dinner on their deck! Baron had a great time there enjoying the view of the beach and the birds with his doggy friends....of course that's because he's a very friendly bird dog!

Owner's Response: Debra thank you again for staying with us. Had you not told me about the dog show,I would not have thought about thaking my four yr. old grandaughter. She enjoyed dressing up really cute to cheer for Baron and the judge even walked over and spoke to her asking which dog was her's. She replied we were cheering for our friend, big dog 19 and she was delighted when Baron got a ribbon. It was a new and exciting for her and meant even more because we could root for you. Come back again soon,

We took a spring break vacation for Biloxi with our two kids (5 and 3) and our dog. This house is located close to the heart of Biloxi on a quite street, less than a block away from the ocean. The owners have preserved the 1950's charm in everything from the gas stove to the front door with the knob in the middle. The fenced in backyard was perfect for our dog, and for evening grilling. There are a lot of this to do nearby, but we spent most of our time on the beach. It was only a short walk, and the relatively calm waters proved perfect for our younger kids.

I highly recommend taking the boat trip out to ship island. You see dolphins on the way, get to spend time on a secluded beach, and get to experience some higher surf. Lots of fun.

If I had to list a negative, it would be the train. It's not overpowering, but a light sleeper like myself was awaken a couple times during the night due to the train whistle. The tracks are about a half a block away. The others in my group did not notice it at all. I'm a light sleeper, so it woke me up. It gave me a reason to have an extra cocktail before bed each night, so it worked out in my favor:)

Don't let that small issue distract you from renting this place. We had a blast.
