Ibu and Pat are currently settled in Boquete, Chiriqui after living in Panama City for over 30 years. Both are retired. Ibu from flying, and Pat from teaching.
This cottage was originally built by the Panama Canal Company to house their US employees. When the Canal Zone reverted to Panama on 31 December 1999 in accordance to the 1976 Panama Canal Treaties between the US and Panama, those living in the houses were given 1st choice to purchase them. We did just that! Best place to live in Panama City. Close enough but away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.
The neighborhood is definitely a family oriented one where most have lived there over 15 years. It's quiet and safe and the neighbors are just that: neighbourly. Renters mention that the deck for afternoon relaxing and bird watching plus the abundance of trees are tops in their preference as well as the appealing streets for jogging or just walking.
