This quiet and private paradise is a beauty. With newly updated rooms and a huge wooded backyard it is very comfortable. The house has a view of the river from many of the rooms and the sound of it is breathtaking. You will never have a sleepless night here as the sound of the river lulls you to sleep.Very private and peaceful. We have a solar garden that lights up the yard with color changing orbs and flowers at night. The property is also located two blocks away from:

Master Suite: Large bed room with a queen size four poster bed and a futon. Large armoire and a large walk in closet. There is also a private dressing room and a private bathroom. Nice view of the river.

Cloud room:

This room is uniquely painted with clouds and gives a kind of island paradise feel. With two day beds two end tables, a dresser, and a closet. Nice view of the river and yard

Yellow Room: This little room has a twin size bed, a chair, a closet, and an end table. It is very nicely painted and looks like a room belonging in a country cottage. This room has a view of the yard

Red room:

This room has a full sized bed, closet, dresser. This room has a view of the front yard and side yard.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to control the amount of clean up we have to do after guests check out, we are only able to provide the amount of sleeping space required by the amount of people staying. EXAMPLE: If there are only 4 people staying, we will provide enough sleeping space for those 4 people, but the rest of the bedrooms, will be locked.

Kitchen:

fully equipped. ALL NEW KITCHEN APPLIANCES!! New Fridge, New stove, New mic, New toaster, New ice cream maker, New waffle maker, New blender, New snow cone maker and accessories, dishes, cookware, cups, plates, washer, dryer, bake ware, spices, tea, salt, pepper, entrance to back yard, entrance to side yard and parking lot, table and four chairs, and much, much more.

Dining Room: Seating for eight people and beautiful decor this room has two tables, a buffet dresser, window seat with a view of front of the house and access to the front hallway and first floor bathroom and kitchen.

Living room:

Decorated blue with a star covered sky. large sectional, books, a chair, futon, access to sun porch, TV, Dvd's UPON REQUEST. There is another dining area in this room as well as in the sun porch. Outside there is a fire pit, lawn chairs, gardens, solar garden at night, and a horse shoe set for outside. Parent's are responsible for all messes and and any damage caused by their children.

About Alicia Reichlin

My husband and I run this vacation rental with my father. We have owned the house for many years but we decided to rent it out to people. The house has gone through many updates over the years and we have put a lot of time and energy to making it beautiful. We always try to make the house the way we would want it and keep up with the maintenance and cleaning by ourselves.

Why Alicia Reichlin chose Niagara Falls

The house was built in 1917 for the president of Niagara Dry Goods. It had many owners over the years and my father and my grandmother bought the house 30 years ago. It was abandoned and left to freeze in the brutal Niagara Falls winters. When my father first walked in it was just a shell. It still had all of the original chandeliers, woodwork, fire place brass door knobs hardwood floors, etc. But it also had water and ice throughout the house, vine growing in the windows, the ceilings had come down and all of the wall paper was moldy. Every radiator and toilet had burst, everything had to be rewired and new pipes had to be put in. The sun porch had completely collapsed and the roof had to be completely rebuilt. Most people considered it a lost cause and said it should have been torn down. But my father saw it for what it was. It was a beautiful house that he knew of when he was a kid 40 years before, and delivered newspapers to as a boy. He knew what it had looked like and what it should look like. So he put his skills, and patience into it and slowly brought it back to life. Then in 2011 I began to have an idea. I wanted to make the house even better. So my father putting his skills to work once again, was able to take the ideas from my head as I wanted and put them into the house. I wanted blue skies and starry nights on the walls like canvas and together we made it work. Every room has it's own feel to it. Each space has it's own character. So now we are proud to present to our guests the finished product. The property also has a lot of historical value to it. We found out many political fundraisers and parties were held here and it is one of the few mansions left in Niagara Falls.

The rental is conveniently located very close to the Falls. There is just a short walk 2 blocks and you are there.

Beautiful Place!

I grew up in Niagara Falls, and moved away years ago. Every year I come back to visit family and every year we choose a different vacation rental. Well we were in luck to find one so close to the Falls and downtown. Though it was still cold outside we were still able to walk around and go to the Falls. The house we chose to stay in was beautiful. My wife loved the red room and my daughters fell in love with the pink master bedroom so we let them have it for a couple of nights. The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful, she even left a gift basket filled with chocolate and other goodies for us, as well as stuffed animals for my two daughters. She was helpful with giving us some history about the house and it's previous owners. It's hard to describe how breath taking this place is. The house is so close to the river you can hear it from the property and the yard is very park like. It's like being out in the woods even though you aren't. We were able to see the river from the bedroom windows. The house is also very original and old. It's rare to find a house this well kept with all original brass door knobs, lead glass windows, and gorgeous french doors. My parents came by and were very impressed with the living room and the large moon painted on the walls. We highly recommend this place and we will be coming back next year, there is no doubt about that.

The house was even nicer than expected. The rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. The location was perfect; within walking distance of Falls; Goat Island and the Casino.
We would definitely stay there again.

As I had always hoped it would be!!!!

I am originally from Niagara Falls, NY and had always been curious about the Mansions down by the River. When I was little my father used to walk me down their and we would look at them on our way to Goat Island. There was one in particular that I always loved. It reminded me of the movie the Secret Garden. Well now I am older and I came back to Niagara Falls to see family. I wanted to stay at a vacation rental that way we could all stay in one house and have more time to spend with each other. Well I was shocked to find that the house I loved as a child was listed as a vacation rental on the Niagara Falls, tourism website. I had to book it! It was amazing to finally be in the house I had seen and loved as a child. And funny, the back yard is very much like the secret garden and much like I pictured it would be. I was so pleased with this rental, everything was so beautiful and well decorated inside and out. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They gave us more history about the house and showed us around. I was so happy to share this place with my children, and my father was happy to see that I finally got to see the house. We took a walk together to Goat Island, it was great just like old times. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone. I hope the next time we come down this place will be available.

Our second Honeymoon!

I came to Niagara Fall, NY with my wife on a romantic get away and I wanted to go back to the place where I proposed to her and where we got married. I wanted to take her some place special. Well we found it! Too bad this place wasn't around 20 years ago, because it would have been a great wedding venue. We stayed in the master suite and I'll tell you my wife was so happy. Every room was so well decorated, and very big! The living room with the starry night sky was just incredible, and the kitchen was well stocked. The sound of the river from the house was incredible and we were able to have a romantic dinner out on the sun porch and then share a bottle of wine in the back yard in front of the fire pit. The solar garden was visible from where we were sitting in the yard. It gave everything a very magical feel. Everything was just perfect. The hostess even left us complimentary chocolates, hand made soap, and a bottle of wine. She made us feel right at home and welcome. I would highly recommend this place. We are definitely coming back next year! Thank you so much Alicia & John for making our second honeymoon so memorable!

Beautiful home.

The was a beautiful house. My family and I came here for a family reunion and we knew we wanted to be in one house. We were all very comfortable and very pleased with how well stocked the house was. We were also amazed at the unique decor and paint work in each room. You don't find houses like this very often. My nieces enjoyed looking at the doll house. Though they weren't allowed to play with it, they were content with looking in the windows and talking to the dolls inside. We all had enough room to spread out and each guest room was very roomy. My parents got the master suite and they said the bed was very, very comfortable. Everything here is very park like and peaceful. It's so strange to have such a large beautiful yard and still be in the downtown area. The host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. They were able to recommend a few local restaurants and attractions. They also sat with us for a while and talked with us about the history of the house and the local area. I would greatly recommend this house to everyone.

This place is amazing!!

My family and I come to Niagara Falls, NY every year to see my in laws. We have stayed in many vacation rentals in the area over the years but this one was by far the best. So peaceful and quiet. My favorite part was the back yard. When you walk out the back door it's like stepping into a whole different world. It has huge trees and beautiful gardens. There were chipmunks, bunnies and lots of birds, it was like being in a park. There is even a kiwi plant over the arbor in the back yard. It didn't have fruit, but I had no idea kiwi could grow so far up north but the owner was so kind to inform us. The house is beautifully decorated and all of the guest rooms are very big. Our children loved the snow cone maker and the huge yard. My parents enjoyed the fairly large library of books available. The house had everything we needed and then some, but the ability to hear the Niagara River from the house was the best part. You can even see the River from the second floor and the walk to the Falls is very short. You can actually leave your car parked at the rental and go to most of the attractions downtown. We wish we had done this the first day, we would have saved ourselves $10.00. I would highly recommend this house and other guests will not regret it. Thank you Alicia and John for sharing your beautiful home with us. Hopefully we can stay again next year.

We really appreciated staying here. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Everything was in perfect order and very clean. We enjoyed the very quick walk to the Falls, when you said short distance to the Falls, you weren't kidding. We all enjoyed our rooms, they were so beautiful and well cared for. A charming home

We traveled back from Cooperstown on are way home to Chicago and wanted to make a stop in Niagra Falls. I did a ton of research about the hotels in the area and other houses for rent. We had a total of 6 people, 2 of them teenagers. Therefore a hotel would not be the best for all of us. This home was truly a charm and exceeded our expectations. The house was a mansion with beautifully kept landscaping and great decor. We also had a 7 year old with us and the home even had a snow cone maker and toys for the yard. The house was easily walking distance to downtown and to the falls, saved us on parking of $10.00 per day. I too read all of the reviews prior to staying some place. So I highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay for a few nights or even a week that is walking distance to most everything. Thanks Alicia for a great experience and opening up the home to us. Niagara was an memorable experience.

Great location and value in Niagara Falls NY

Web site and photo gallery accurately depict this immaculate, eclectic and comfortable home. It is a short 5 minute walk to the brink of the American Falls and park area. Also walkable to Rainbow bridge to NF Canada and convenient to parkway and freeways to surrounding attractions and quaint villages of Youngstown and Lewiston.
Loved the privacy and serenity of this home.
I have recommended to my niece for a bachelorette week with out of town attendants as well as ladies get together or family vacation. For local residence who may have friends or family in town for reunions or functions it can accommodate very comfortably.
The yard is beautiful. For those unaware that homes near the river can have a lot of bugs (sand flies?) it was easily correctable with insect foggier and tiki torches as well as fire pit.
Treat this home with the respect a rental deserves and be upfront @ number of guests. I have rented many places in the area. This was the first in the city of Niagara Falls NY. Highly recommend.
