Leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind; come relax, in comfort and privacy at the Kick Back Retreat.This second floor unit is ½ block off of Main St., is unbeatable as shops, market, restaurants, golf and the town park/playground are all within easy walking distance. Radium Hot Springs offers all the amenities of the city yet maintains the quiet serenity and charm of small town living.

Radium Hot Springs has earned the reputation as a favorite mountain getaway and is famous for its wonderfully relaxing hot pools which are open year round for your enjoyment. With Calgary just two and a half hours away, Banff Resort one and a half hours away and Invermere, Fairmont Hot Springs and Panorama just minutes away, Radium and vicinity offers all the recreational pleasures imaginable. Notably: skiing-downhill and cross country, snowboarding, golf on one of the 15 courses, tennis, boating, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing on the Columbia River, white water rafting, birding along the wetlands, wild life photography, hunting, rock climbing, horseback riding and trail running. Or, enjoy the hospitality at any one of the many fine dining restaurants within the Radium/Invermere/Fairmont areas.

There is an activity for everyone but if brewing a cup of hot chocolate and cozying up with a good book is your bag, welcome to a little taste of heaven.

Your small well mannered dog or goldfish is welcome to vacation with you. Like all responsible pet owners we expect you to pick up after your dog on our outside areas as well. Please keep in mind we have taken great care to renovate our unit and appreciate all potential guests to respect it as their own. Please choose another venue if your main interest is to party.

About The Owner

Verna & Donna live and work in Invermere. With 40 years of nursing under her belt, Donna is nearing retirement. Running a vacation rental will fill some of her spare time in years to come. Verna, our hospital's unit clerk, enjoys spending time with her four daughters and new grand daughter. Combined we have 6 grandchildren.

We enjoy traveling - Mexico being our destination of choice.

Just so you know, we have, besides all the blood, sweat and tears, put hundreds of hours into this unit's renovation. We are confident you will enjoy the tasteful touches we have worked into this comfortable apartment. If you have any infant or small child needs, don't hesitate to ask us as we are well stocked with such products. (play pen, booster seats, baby gate etc,) We will do our best to help.

Why The Owner chose Radium Hot Springs

Having recently finished the renovation on our apartment we decided to post it as a vacation rental. Radium Hot Springs draws people from all over the world to the world famous hot springs and to the many world class golf courses in Radium and vicinity. Skiing at Panorama Resort and Fairmont Resort are a short drive away for the snow enthusiasts. Windermere Lake and the Columbia River are wonderful spots for summer time sports. If unusual is your thing, try hand gliding, rock/ice climbing, heli skiing, gliding at the airport or take a site- seeing plane or helicopter ride from the Invermere Airport. In the spring Invermere hosts a week long, world renowned birding event called Wings over the Rockies. And, each summer Invermere hosts a Hand Gliding Competition bringing competitors from far and wide. Invermere/Radium/Fairmont have many unique shops to explore but be sure not to miss the Glass blowing demonstration at Bavin Glass; it is a unique experience.

What makes this apartment unique

Our unit offers you privacy and quiet surroundings with comfortable furnishings and amenities including: Wi Fi, 51' television, fully equipped kitchen, in-suite laundry, private covered deck for summer time enjoyment. Extra storage space will accommodate your golf/ski or other sporting equipment. Being 1/2 block off the main business street in Radium, everything is within walking distance.

Your well mannered pet is welcomed to stay with you excluding the bedroom area.

We do, of course, expect you to clean up after your pet and to be respectful of the furnishings.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas retreat in Radium Hot Springs. The accommodations were extremely comfortable, clean, and inviting. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and a host of Christmas home made treats. A winter playground of activities that included hiking, skiing, and sight seeing was at our finger tips.
Verna and Donna truly made sure our family holiday would be a memorable one. We look forward to our stay at the 'Kick Back' the next time we venture to Radium Hot Springs. Thank you. The K's from Edmonton.

Kicking back in the mountains.

We drove to Radium from Lake Louise along Highway 93, a trip I highly recommend. We found our rental right away and were met with a bottle of Chilean Red Wine and a welcome card. Nice touch! The first thing we noticed was that the suite felt larger and brighter than the pictures led us to think, and it was immaculately clean. The kitchen is large and well equipped and has a lot of storage space. The bathroom is tight for two but fine for one. The master bedroom has a lovely wooden bed frame, and, though I prefer a firmer mattress, the bed was fine. We had no need of the second bedroom, which has a nice captain's bed, except that we used it to store our luggage, and as a changing area. The living room has a large screen TV, although we barely used it, and the free WIFI internet was fast. This is a very spacious suite and I'm sure a family of 4 or 5 would be very comfortable, or even 2 couples, although one couple would have to use the captain's bed. Be aware that this suite is on the second floor, so don't overload your bags. There are a lot of things to see and do in the valley. The hot springs, skiing, water sports on Lake Windermere and hiking are all readily accessible. The highway affords a pleasant drive through the mountains. The grocery store, restaurants, pubs and shops are all within a couple of blocks. We had no problems dealing with the owners, who obviously care very much about their home. We would recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Suite vs hotel room

There are lot of hotel rooms in the area. This was a 5 star suite. The suite is immaculate, and has all the modern touches, including internet, big screen tv, air conditioning and in house laundry.
And it is literally a block away from everything that Radium Hot Springs has to offer. There was a music festival the weekend we were there, and could hear it from the deck.
The Hot Springs are a five minute drive.
Invermere on the lake is 12 minutes away. Invermere has all the water sports/vacation needs you could ask for.
We will be staying here every summer!
