My favorite place in Montauk

I've been to many places around the world and none of them convey their own personality like this little getaway in Montauk. I have stayed on two seperate occasions so far, and both times I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The location of the house is perfect- only a short walk to a beautiful beach and a few miles away from town. The house it'self provides a unique experience all the while still expressing it's own personal touch. The towering crowsnest that provides a gorgeous view of the sun setting on the ocean and the morning breeze greeting you in the morning are only a few of the outstanding reasons i choose this house as my number one choice in reguards to lodging in Montauk.

This was our sixth time spending a week or two in Montauk. Having rented in other parts of town including Ditch Plains, Hither Hills, Fort Pond and West Lake, I can say we got a lot of house and convenience at John's place in Culloden Shores. The layout was great for us (2 teen boys and grandma each had a room downstairs, me and the wife had the spacious upstairs suite); the backyard, two decks and the crows nest made great use us of the outdoor space, and the 1-block walk to the beach on the mellow sound made a quick swim or beach hang really easy anytime. Plus, just a short drive to town, surfing, and everything else. The kitchen was small but new and had just about everything you need. I would absolutely rent this place again.

A Great Week In Montauk!

On arrival we found everything clean and ready to move into. The linens were ready and the beds were clean and freshly made. The kitchen had all the conveniences of home. All the major appliances were all a welcome convenience. The neighborhood was quiet and nice for evening sunset walks.The look-out crows nest was great for waterfront views. The beds were comfortable and the cool Montauk evening breezes made sleeping a pleasure. Thanks for a great week John!

I stayed with some friends at John's house last week, and we had a fantastic time. The house has so much character, and has plenty of room. We were able to spread out, work, eat, enjoy ourselves tremendously. The porches and decks on the house are really fantastic too. The view from the top circular porch has the best view of the bay, and surrounding neighborhood- a great place to watch the sunset.
The house is great for a group of friends, and I'd imagine for a family as well since it's literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. Because it's deep in a neighborhood, it is helpful to have a car. You can walk to the Gosman's dock area easily, though!
Great time, and John was very, very accommodating. We would all definitely rent the place again.
