Clever Photoghraphy....Keep Looking
What a disappointment- The house was cold, outdated, and absolutely filthy! The carpet is falling apart and stained, all of the blinds have at least a half inch of dust, the windows are greasy, the furniture was miss-matched and out-dated, the blankets have not been washed, the sofa is stained and stinky, all of the decor is dirty and outdated, the vertical blinds are missing slats, the outdoor chairs are broken, the bathtubs were black with foot prints in them, the Foosball table is broken, the beds are sagging and the small kitchen was a mess of miss-matched dirty dishes. It was like camping inside (in February in Tahoe). On the first morning we discovered that both of the showers (which both have black mold in them) were not working properly (one would not drain and the other broke when you tried to divert the water from the bath to shower). The dishes in the kitchen were dirty and there were not enough to accommodate the number of people the house advertises it can accommodate. The pans were un-useable (they were dirty and peeling Teflon). We called the property manager who sent a maintenance man to come fix the showers and who promised us he would send a cleaning crew (that never came). The maintenance man was very nice, fixed the showers all the while apologizing for the condition of the house and went to Kmart and bought some new pans and more dishes for us. We stayed but spent most of our time out of the house due to its poor condition. I would not recommend this property to anybody and hope that the owners take note. It would not cost that much to update and clean this property- move the furniture and dust, wash the windows, clean and re-caulk the tubs, wash the bedding, wash the throw rugs in bathrooms, update the paint, provide more towels, provide an efficient heater in the garage bedroom, replace the carpet, paint the old furniture, and hire a decent housekeeper. My family owns a vacation rental on Shasta Lake and we would have never rented our house in this condition- our goal is to attract repeat business and provide a nice home to relax in on your vacation. This house was far from relaxing. We had to clean the tubs ourselves, wash the dirty bedding, hang a sheet up over the broken blinds, and call for maintenance. Even if you want to just fill up your rental calendar at least provide a clean rental.
Owner's Response: We sincerely apologize that you had a poor stay. We very much appreciate any constructive feedback and we are constantly striving to improve. The quality of our rentals is very important to us and we can assure you that all of the above mentioned issues are being addressed directly with the owners and crew. The tubs are being re-caulked, carpets and all bedding deep cleaned, as well as any kitchen items, and the other mentioned issues are being fixed or replaced.
