Nice Holiday Getaway

This property is clean, well maintained, and well stocked with amenities! For Memorial Day Weekend, two families shared the home with five 10 - 14 years old kids sleeping in the bunk room. The house is situated on a quiet street, so the kids could play outside without much concern. We were too busy to use the new televisions. We thoroughly enjoyed dining out on the large screened porch with it's two ceiling fans to keep the breezes flowing. The kids loved the loft area, listening to music while playing ping pong and pool. The sofa area in the main room accommodated us well for playing games and hanging out. Having three full bathrooms was a definite plus. My husband and I slept in the basement bedroom, which was cool, quiet, and had a very comfortable mattress. The dehumidifier might be a bit loud for some, but after closing the bedroom door we didn't notice it.
We rode bikes, took long walks, used the owner's canoe, and gas grill. We enjoyed the North Beach which was much less crowded than the main beach. It was nice having the 7 resort badges to use at the facilities. We also visited the fruit stand en-route to Hamlin that had much more than fruit and veggies. Check out its yummy pastries, raw milk and local honey.
The owner returned our call promptly when we thought we had a problem with the hot water heater. A local plumber checked in with us and the concern was quickly resolved. Would definitely recommend this house to others!

Great Weekend Getaway!

This was our first time renting a home for a weekend getaway and it was great! The homeowner was great to work with and answered all questions we had from the time we first contacted him until our arrival date.
We were a little nervous on what to expect, but must say that the home is absolutely gorgeous! We felt right at home and glad that we picked this home over all the others we browsed. Everything was spotless, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to make breakfast and enjoy snacks. The bedrooms were also neat and clean, as well as the bathrooms.
During the second day of our stay we went to the ski hill which was only about a 5 min drive from the home. When we inquired at the main gate we were told that it was closed for the season, but that seemed strange, so we called the phone extension for the ski hill and were informed that the ski hill was open that weekend. We weren't interested in skiing or snowboarding, and so the snow tubing for an hour was perfect for us - $7 was a great price as well!
I would recommend this home for anyone who wants to enjoy a nice quiet time with friends or family. There were 8 of us, and we surely had a great time. Neighbors did not bother and we were able to listen to music and play board games that we brought without worrying that we would disturb anyone next to us. The house sleeps 11, so we had some extra bunk beds we didnt use - next time we might just invite more people!
The only negative feedback I have is the customer service of the security at the main gate. When we went to inquire on the ski hill, we were told that it was closed for the season. It is understandable that sometimes they might not know, but considering it is ski season, we were bewildered as to why we were told this. Luckily we decided to call the ski hill directly and they gave us accurate information. Secondly, on the second night of our stay, the power went out and we called the main gate for more information. The person that answered us was not very helpful and a bit cynical about the situation. After about an hour we called again just to see if there was any update and again, he was rude and stated he doesnt have any information as he does not work for the electric company!
All in all, we would definitely consiser staying in this home again. The negative comments we had were not home related and weren't serious to deter us from coming again!

Great time at this truly spacious home, well renovated and kept clean. Listing accurately describes all the amenities , house looks better/newer in person. Owner was very easy to reach, answered all our questions and (unnecessary) concerns, would absolutely recommend this house to friends and others.
