Truly an Oasis

We are a family of four adult women and we had the best time staying in this condo. Somehow...even though they are beautiful, the pictures do not do the condo justice! It looks exactly like the photos and is even betten in person.
The pool was just downstairs, we got to watch lizards scoot around and waited for the iguana to make his daily walk from one side of the gardens to the other. The area around the pool was very lush, there were plenty of chairs, though there could be some competition for chairs in the shade. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships come and go, some were louder than others, but are not worth complaining about and certainly should not keep people away from this great place.
It was a quick walk to Duval and Mallory Square- but we really did not venture too far from the condo - it is really hot in Key West in July! The condo was very well appointed, we had all the luxuries of home and so we made a lot of meals there.
We did go to a few restaurants:
Lobos - hidden, delicious, outside, it was really hot sitting there though
Cheeseburger - good burgers, not much else to say
Southernmost Beach Cafe - Go for breakfast, stay for the view
Sarahbeths - good service, good food, homey atmosphere
Island Dogs Bar - not worth the trip
Mattheessens - Best cookies ever, brownies were too cakey for our liking
We used Five 6's taxi the whole time we were there - they were really rude and on several occasions other people took our cabs and dispatch acted like we were pests for asking for another cab - avoid them if you can.
You really do not need a car if you stay here - the first day we took a taxi to and from the new Publix, fantastic by the way, and then picked up odds and ends for our second week at Fautsos, which is pricey and has a limited selection - I would spend the money on a cab and go to publix.
I hate to even complain, but there were a couple of things we did not like about the condo - the master bedroom is warmer then the whole rest of the condo, so for those in there to be cool, everyone else is cold and the bed in the master was hard, after 2 weeks, my bad back was aching. Also a few times the garbage room was full and the hallways started to smell - this is not a reflection on the condo or its owners, but of the management
The good really does more than outweigh the bad - go and enjoy the Oasis - it is a wonderful spot!
Owner's Response: We're always pleased when our guest have a great time at one of our homes. It's why we're in the hospitality business. We also take constructive comments very much to heart, and in fact encourage our guests to tell us about even the smallest problem so we can fix it while they are there, instead of after the fact. We pride ourselves in taking swift action to keep our guests 100% satisfied.
We've already arranged for our service people to balance the A/C system to compensate for the fact that the master bedroom is on the sunnier south side of the condo. We've also purchased a Tempurpedic style memory foam topper for the master bed, and have talked to the homeowner's association about more frequent garbage pickups.
