This spacious 1838 single family home is nestled in a valley of the Green Mountains, convenient to a wide variety of area attractions and is available for rental October through early May.

Hiking trails are just up the road, unique shops and galleries make this a quiet but vibrant village, with four major ski mountains nearby. And this house is big enough to keep your family and friends comfortable and cozy at the same time.

A mere 3 hour drive from Boston, or relaxing 4+hour train ride from NYC, you can get here. Amtrak runs from NYC to Rutland and/or Bellows Falls, which are 45 minutes away. Megabus travels most affordably into Albany, NY (1hr, 20 minutes). And for a small additional fee, we can help your automotively-challenged city-folk friends get here, too, and pick you and/or them up at any one of these locations. (Arrangements must be confirmed with property owner in advance, of course.)

Skiers and boarders have several winter mountain options in the area: Okemo, Magic, Bromley and Stratton are 15-30 minutes away. Killington is about 45 minutes if the roads are snow-covered.

Enjoy free samples at the Vermont Country Store, meals at Bryant House, visit local artists' gallery shops. Walk through the Weston Village Green for real fresh air and traditional winter fun; buy gifts, Vermont made cheese and maple syrup at Weston Village Store, and holiday goodies at The Christmas Shoppe.

This 7-bedroom house has lots to offer for your fall and winter getaways. Fully equipped kitchen with 2 full-size refrigerators, 3 bathrooms, large living/dining room with fireplace; TV with basic cable service and DVD player, and wireless internet also included. Third floor loft sitting area provides another quiet place to relax, read a book, nap or play board games.

Most bedrooms are comfortably spacious. Each has a side chair or rocker; three rooms have desks for your office away from home.

During our summer theatre season, this house is enjoyed by our guest artists. They love having a 'home' in Weston, and away from the bustle of city living.

Knowing this is an area people love to visit in fall and winter, we want to make the house available for others to enjoy.

What makes this house unique

There's a nice view of the West River from the back deck. The fireplace is a favorite feature, of course. The charming shops in town provide a nice change of pace and offer a taste of Vermont and all that's good about it. And you can bring family and friends to this house with 12 beds to choose from!

Seeking a Home Away From Home

Large home in a quaint little town. The caretakers went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay. Exactly what we were looking for to bring our three families together for the holiday. We plan to return next year and would recommend the stay to anyone looking for a place with some good old-fashion Vermont charm! The Vermont Country Store couldn't get any closer, but you still feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of the city. We have no complaints!!

Very welcoming 7BR large house

Our host (home-owner) Bridget was very wonderful to deal with in making things super easy and very pleasant. The house was extra spacious and was kept very warm. We had 9 guests in our group in total and everyone really liked the house! We all had a great New Years weekend and trip! All of the basics (and some of the not so basics) were thought of in advance which was kind of our host to take care of. (things like plenty of toilet paper, extra towels, a full mud area for shoes/skis/jackets, large bin for recyclables, a few extra towels, etc etc. Would gladly recommend this home for anyone with a large group or family. The kitchen is huge with 2 stoves, 2 fridges, and a large eating table (we took full advantage of all of this by having several grand family meals together), it's fully stocked with everything you might need in the cupboards.

One thing I'd recommend is a humidifier as the rooms get very dry. Also as a big plus, if you follow the instructions on the fire place it's really nice atmosphere in the living room once you get it going. Overall very pleased with my stay :) nothing bad to say, it's a mountain house so keep your expectations in check... approx 15 minutes to/from Okemo fyi. *there is limited cell phone reception, but the house offers a strong internet connection wifi which keeps you connected to the rest of the world. Also as a heads up there's plenty of parking, and a church next door which has service sunday mornings so behave or sleep-in.
