Fantastic Apartment - Perfect!
Your only disappointment will be if this apartment is not available when you need it!
Let me start out by saying I am not a newbie on apartment rentals for vacations.
We have stayed in apartments in Rome, Paris, Copenhagen...and I do a lot of research about the apartments we rent ahead of time. Look for reviews, see how often the apartment is rented, check location on Google Map, do a street view on Google map to check out the area, and even talked to rental agencies directly to ask for recommendations.
This apartment has been the best overall experience we have had. The photo's very accurately show the apartment as you will see it when you walk in. Many other apartments, the photo's look great, but the apartment looks shabby...not this one. There was not a mark on the wall, not a stain on the floor, everything was like you walked into a magazine photo shoot.
The extra touches, starter coffee pods (Nespresso...), tea, even a very first for us...slippers!
Another feature not shown are the electric shutters on ALL the windows of the apartment. A touch of a button sealed up the windows, and you could leave it with tiny openings to let light in, or keep the button press to totally block out all light.
Another thing not shown in photos was the very cool colored ceiling cove lighting...turn off lights and turn on this cove lighting and the place was transformed into a high tech showroom.
The building was very secure, doorman most of the day, key needed to get in the main door after hours. Elevators in building, there are actually a total of 4 elevators, 2 on each side. We have rented apartments in the past that advertise elevators, but they don't work...here they worked perfectly, and had spares in case one was not working (that did not happen with us)
Very quiet, we felt like the only people in the building, and no street noise.
Very close to Duomo and Galleria as stated before.
Last thing, don't miss the Monumental Cemetery in Milan! Amazing display of statues, some very moving, among the huge crypts. We took the trolley from Duomo directly to the Cemetery.
Another tip for iPhone users, the iATM app...great street map of Milan (offline), showed all the tram and subway stops, and told you how to get from one place to another using trams, subway...great free app!
