Earlier this month my wife and I enjoyed a 5 night stay at Cima Del Mundo, and couldn't have been happier with our choice of lodgings. The owners, Deborah and Dennis, have put a lot of though and care into the experience they are providing for their guests. After picking us up at the airport and driving us to our rental car, they took us on an insider's tour of Isabel Segunda, pointing out a number of good restaurants, bakeries, and stores along the way. The property is 5-10 minute drive from town, on a hill bordering the northern section of the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. The suites are below the main apartment where the owners live, but as the house is built on a hill both levels have balconies with stunning views (the pictures really can't do it justice). The balcony was the perfect place to begin day sipping on coffee and watch the sunset at night, listening to roosters, Coqui frogs, and neighing of the many horses that wander around the island. Among the many conveniences provided by Deborah and Dennis, we found everything we needed for the beach, including comfortable chairs, an umbrella, an umbrella anchor, coolers of various sizes, a really nice beach tote, noodles, beach towels and baggies/utensils for picnics. The amenities in the apartment include luxurious linens (sheets, beddings, bath towels were all very nice), a satellite tv/stereo (we never used it), and interesting reading material on history and character of the island. Though we didn't cook, the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, a blender, a toaster, and there was a brand new gas grill on the patio. We explored several gorgeous beaches during our visit and loved staying at Cima del Mundo!

We had been to Vieques before, and when we decided to return saw Cima Del Mundo advertised and thought that it looked liked a good value. This was a great decision. Deborah and Dennis picked us up at the airport, took us to get our rental car and proceeded to their home. Our apartment (downstairs from their home) was tastefully decorated and immaculate. The view was incredible. The kitchen was equipped with anything you would need for cooking (unlike some rentals that come with odds and ends that are barely usable). The area is very quiet; you can hear the roosters crowing in the morning, but they are not right next door!
You will need a car to find the best beaches, but that is almost essential on Vieques.
Deborah and Dennis are excellent hosts. They are available if you need them, but invisible if you don't!
We already have plans to return next year!

Our stay at Cima Del Mundo was one of relaxation and blissful quiet. But, if you want to go and have cocktails and dinner in town, it is less than a 10 minute drive away. Waking up to the incredible views from our apt. everyday, did feel as if we were on top of the world. So peaceful. We especially loved having beach chairs and "toys" provided for us as we didn't have to worry about renting these items. The rooms were sunny and cheerful and extremely clean....spotless actually. The beds were sooo cozy and inviting and the sheets were high quality cotton, which are so comfortable in a tropical climate. Deborah and Dennis were warm and welcoming and able to answer all of our questions about the island. I would highly recommend Cima Del Mundo to anyone thinking of vacationing in Vieques.

If only I could find my ruby slippers...how is it possible that in a weeks time we were so comfortable as if in our own home and not ready to leave Cima, La Isla Nena or Deborah and Dennis? It didn't matter what time of day if we were headed out or headed home there was The need to pause and do a 360 to absorb the beautiful view and listen to the peaceful sounds that surround you at Cima del Mundo. We traveled with 2 teenagers and felt comfortable enough with the accomodations to leave them home for a few hours while we enjoyed shopping in Esperanza and then grabbed afternoon cocktails before heading home to relax, watch the sunset and prepare for dinner. Deb and Dennis provided us with all of the information we needed so we knew what we wanted to do and see on the island. The helpful hints they added along the way added to the relaxation we experienced on this trip. I can't say enough about how the property is maintained nor the value versus other island properties then add in 2 lovely hosts always willing to make a suggestion that is priceless! We are planning on a return trip wih extended family to enjoy the magic of Cima del Mundo again and we can't wait!

The property sits atop of a mountain, is immaculately clean and airy. At night you hear sounds of nature.
One doesn't go to Vieques to spend time inside, but at the end of the day sitting on the porch and looking at the ocean, and the lights of the main island, while having a bottle of wine with friends - that's as good if not better than a boutique hotel, and much cheaper. Hosts have been very accommodating, even arranging a car rental when we couldn't get it from the rental agencies (New Year's). Deborah and her husband have been great, thinking of all the details, providing beach umbrellas, chairs, towels, even a cooling bag.
Overall, we enjoyed it greatly.

I stayed at Cima with my boyfriend in November, and when looking for places to stay, nearly everywhere says they have an amazing view. Well, there are certainly no shortage of beautiful vistas on this island, but nowhere is like Cima! The view there is truly spectacular and far surpasses anywhere else on the island. The pictures do not and cannot do it justice. The house is built on the side of a steep hill, allowing for amazing panoramic views. We had lovely mornings sitting outside with our coffee watching the ferry come in or go out, watching the clouds go by, and discovering Vieques' new houses and sights from our high-up perch. When it's clear, you can see the windmills on San Juan! In the evenings, we loved to stargaze. And the sunset is truly spectacular.

The apartment is clean, bright, cool and airy, equipped with everything you could need while on the island: cooking supplies and beach towels and coolers included. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable and can share all the best restaurants and hidden gems on the island. They met us at the airport and even provided us with a tour of the nearby areas so we'd have a good sense of where things were when we went out on our own.

Seeing the horse families walking around the island really reinforces how "far away" this place really is. We came back from dinner one evening to find a baby horse sleeping under a small palm tree next to Cima, while his family milled about him!

Cima is a first class vacation getaway, and you won't regret booking this fabulous vacation suite on this magical and special island. We can't wait for our next trip to the "Top of the World!"

To get away from it all pre-holidays, my girlfriend and I chose Cima del Mundo as our vacation spot in Vieques. Boy, am I glad we did! At 1st, I thought the location would have us traveling a bit. Not so. We were close to everything: beaches, restaurants, shopping. We learned everything was close in Vieques!

The rate was affordable and I feel like we got a good value for our money. We had a complete apartment to ourselves. It was clean and comfortable - beds were comfy, kitchen well outfitted (I like to cook), had wi-fi and TV (although we never used the TV). The best part for us was "cocktail time". After our days at the beach, we would come "home", shower, and prepare for our evening by enjoying the sunsets while sitting on the balcony. Very romantic.

The owners live on site and were very helpful-available if we needed them yet unobtrusive. They also provided a nice surprise for us when we arrived- cold beer and water in the fridge! We were parched from our day of travel and thought that was so thoughtful of them.

Although there are so many places to see in the world, we're talking about going back to Vieques. Would love to be able to stay at Cima del Mundo again!

This was our third stay at Cima. The apartment was again impecable, it looks exactly as it does in the photographs, the view from the deck/porch is more breathtaking in person.
The apartment offered us all of the comforts of home. Very spacious rooms with ceiling fans (a/c in the bedrooms), the bed was quite comfortable and the bedding was lovely, the kitchen was very well stocked, there was great water pressure in the large walk in shower and all of the beach chairs, noodles and coolers awaited us in the large walk in storage closet!
I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Vieques, the owners were wonderful .They answered every question we had, directed us to places to go and explore and filled us in on a lot of island history.
Again, I would highly recommend this property.
